He does live in his own li'l happy world where no one hates anyone for being gay, no one is a racist, no one is rude, and we should all just 'get over' anything that annoys us because he's personally never experienced any ill will directed his way, so how can anyone else's experiences be different?
Wow! I've been gone all afternoon and not at a computer so I had no idea about this thread until now. Thank you Silverfox. Sweet of you to think of me and say nice things.
JP, it's not that I "live in my own happy world" and of course I have experienced ill will come my way. Hell, I'm 51 and gay -- who hasn't? The thing is, I don't choose to dwell on such things. I live my life focused on the positive, and try to keep the negativity at arms length and to a minimum the best I can. That works for me. Maybe it doesn't work for everybody, but it does for me. It's not like I bury my head in the sand and pretend that things like discrimination and other unfair things in life don't exist, but life is simply too short to get bogged down by the negativity that others can aim your way IF you let them. Sure, there are extremes that stand out, and they can be maddening and ugly and horribly unfair to the victims affected. But there are extremes in all areas of life. Everybody deals with the extremes in life differently.
edited to add: You guys, I just read through the rest of the thread. Thank you so much for the kind words. BIG HUG out to all of you. (Even the Democrats...hehe...KIDDING!)
