The story itself was sad enuff on so many levels - but now to see what this woman must have endured... Damn, is about all I can say.

I'm speechless. God bless her for persevering but I want to know what happened to the chimpanzee...

Should wild animals be kept as pets in the same capacity as domesticated ones?

This story came out earlier this year. Yes, she was keeping the chimp, it had attacked her before, and she ignored advice to send the animal away to a preserve. Chimps are violent apes, particularly large males.

I totally disagree with keeping undomesticated animals as pets.

    I know right?!
    I'm sure it was euthanized.
What I'm wondering is WHO in the world thinks a 200 plus pound primate is an appropriate pet?!

I saw that story yesterday, it was amazing. Despite her looks she is in amazing spirits. She joked with O. and laughed. It was one of those moments that makes me thankful for my life and at the same time question if I would have the same strength she does. icon_biggrin.gif

The woman who was attacked(as seen in the above video) was NOT the owner of the chimp. She was a friend of the woman who owned the animal.

I can't believe a doctor said she would never be able to see again considering the kind of technology that is being developed right now!
So many doctor's have gotten complacent these days, never keeping up on research or even developing better creative thinking skills to find solutions to problems.

It wasn't even her chimp. I wonder how the friend feels now.
Dogs can turn on their owners/companions as well. Remember that woman that had her lower lip torn off by her dog?
