i've decided to push the envelope everywhere, i.e : technical riding (mtb) in gym in running, more racing , tackle another 1/2 marathon and aim for 1h30 , or less. xc skiing :do a few more big rides (30km and more )
finally make myself learn and perform Rachmaninov 2nd sonata in its 1913 version. (i'm mentally preparing for that one )
well, just to get a grip, feel like i am loosing it...came out really really late...55 divorced last year, lost house, filed bankruptcy....so just trying to rebuild, start new, trying to meet people but very hard, weight has sky rocketed due to stress,so not sure there are people out there that want an old fat man...hehe....seriously thought i would do this really well but seem like the world is whizzing right by me doc has put me on effexor and hate how i am feeling with that...just want to feel alive again and get a good group of gay friends
Well, the first goal is fitness related: I've dropped about 10 kg of fat and I'm trying to shake off the last 3-5. It might be that I've reached my natural weight, but I've promised myself I will have a visible six pack at least ONE time in my life... even if they're only visible for a day!
The second goal is to take a sailing boat with friends around the islands off the coast of Croatia. (This from someone who had never been on a sailing boat before this summer.) Here in Germany, that involves earning three different sailing licenses and chalking up 300 nautical miles of practice.
The last goal is to get through the second learner's manual for playing piano... with a teacher, thank goodness. Learning to play after 40 is an experience, let me tell you.
Right now mine is to successfully finish out the last 9 months of my Peace Corps service and have a campaign job set up and ready when I leave so I'll have something to do when I get back to the states. I also have a goal of getting much better on the banjo by the time I'm finished here in Armenia.
My current big goal: 10 seems to be my number...... Want to have increased my weight by 10 lbs by this time next year. (This year only packed on 5 lbs. ) Want to have increased my investment value by 10% by this time next year. (This year saw only a 6 % gain. ) Cheers, Keith
NB - Remember, Contentment breeds complacency!! Never, NEVER, be content.
Over the next two years I'm establishing a judo club in a challenged neighborhood. Local government funds are helping me getting started, cos they want healthy activities for kids instead of them getting into trouble.
In time of course I want this project to produce strong judo players and national champions.
I would say my big goals (2 of them) are 1. to finally realize that after a 3 year string of horrible relationships that I can be content without someone. & 2. I finally need to effin stop changing my major and graduate already!
