That's a pretty pathetic excuse he's got there. I hope the whole of the US gets nation-wide equal marriage rights in his lifetime.

    His quote:

Carcieri, a Republican, said he rejected the legislation because it would erode heterosexual marriage.

Thank goodness the 50+% divorce rate doesn't reflect any eroding of heterosexual marriage! Don't you think at some point someone in one of these goofy marriage saving groups would come up with a response as to what they are doing to saving the 'institute' from imploding?

This will never happen with these groups. They would have to admit culpability and that's never going to happen. As long as they have gays as scapegoats, and a loyal group of uninformed and ignorant followers, it really doesn't matter what the issue is. These fundamentalists count on the ignorance of their mob. The way to fight it is through education, not conversion.

Not a surprise. Republicans hate gays, it is their national party platform. What does surprise me are the gays who call themselves Republican, and support this anti-gay platform. Are they so narrowly selfish, or so delusional, that they fail to realize they are braiding the rope with which Republicans hope to hang them?
