Joints as a workout issue

I have weak/weird joints and sometimes when I'm working out with a weight one of them will just sort of give out (not come out of place, just 'fail')

    ....is this normal?

Also, the sound my joints make sometimes when I'm working out really grosses me out (the squishing/rubbing/popping) and so I don't know if there's anything I can do about that or if I just have to get over the fact that I may have weak joints lol

Can't shed light on the 'fail'.. but I have a couple of joints - mostly shoulders - that tend to be a bit clicky/poppy sometimes when I work out too. Stretching usually helps (I do it between sets).

I'm guessing (and there will be wiser heads on here re this than I) that the problem you're experiencing might be related to weak tendons. Without knowing your workout approach, you might need to drop the weight and increase your reps to give them some time to strengthen. Going straight to low rep very high rep can be very bad for tendons.
