Gym, work, sex, party and drinking??? How many of you are into theater, ballet, opera, travel, cooking, dining, reading, foreign films, language etc? Yes this is a "jock" site... but there is more to life than just being a dumb jock.. no??

It seems from reading most profiles here that most of the guys are into their jobs and gym mostly... very little else matters to them.. are there any true intellectuals here????

Man Jetsetter, you got the wrong idea about us. There's a lot of talent here amongst these guys. As for me, I've done a lot of building, I like to do langscaping, love to hike, have traveled all over the US, been to Europe 4 times, love to read, and do some writing, I collect a lot of things, antiques and art. love music and making friends, to name a few.

I just edited this post, removing all this "cultured" crap I've done...........
Why should I have to validate myself for this guy?

Jetsetter- why don't you go to the other forums where people discuss the kinds of things you're talking about instead of posting in the "fire zones"?

OR - if you REALLY want to discuss Art and "Culture" why don't you just post a forum topic about whatever it is you'd like to see discussed?

Signed, Toothless, Tobacco spittin' Inbred Idiot.......

    Booger anyone?
    I brough enough for everybody................

P.S. If you swab a toilet and put it in a Petry dish - THAT'S culture too

I have traveled around the world. I love gourmet food. I can paint and create art like the master's. I can dance better than many who have been taught. As far as acting?....life is a play/act and everyday I am at the theater!

I do not work out at a GYM...I do not drink alcohol or smoke....

    S E X...that's just a hobby correct?

Well, Jetsetter99, I'm sure that nobody here, or anywhere in America could match your delusional level of expertise in "theater, ballet, opera, travel, cooking, dining, reading, foreign films, language etc."

And, as for "true intellectuals," well, we all know that there is only one.
After all, you've told us enough times.

    Now, go away.

jetsetter, I'm afraid all gay men who are interested in theater, ballet, opera, travel, cooking, dining, reading etc. are either 5+ years younger or older than you.

Now Webster. You must understand that the French come across as if they are complaining, but they are not. It's just how they come across. We Americans come across as very loud and opinionated to them...which we are.

    What a goddam arrogant snob!

Maybe if you bothered to actually read some of the profiles or past forums, you would see that we are indeed bigger than the "dumb jock" box in which you have put us.

But since you asked -- and so politely as only a "cultured person" as yourself can be...
I have a Master's degree in Japanese language and literature and still peruse the books, essays and films on which I did my research just for pleasure -- all in the original Japanese, I might add; I'm very well travelled not only in my own country but others as well and actually lived overseas for a few years; and I not only love the theater, but have friends who are performers who get me into their shows whenever I am in New York to see them.

Lesson for you, Jetsetter: keep your words soft and sweet because you may have to eat them.

Actually he isn't a bad guy, Adam, we've chatted one on one, mainly about his US views. Perhaps he hasn't taken the time to get to know as many of us close range as he should.

There are RJ members into everything we can imagine... I love astronomy, history, gardening, landscaping, travel..... so many things that many here wouldn't consider "jock" oriented. I also love sports (that got left out too.. LOL) Drinking and partying are way down the list. Actually they aren't even on my list.

And more importantly, there are people here that we all can learn from.. their experiences.... all of us....

Just look at Adam (Sahem).. what an awesome guy!

    I lolfled.

Only us Europeans, you say, enjoy Brecht, Swan Lake, Bellini, living abroad, making pasta, eating sushi, Tolstoy, Almódovar, and are multilingual....
