The Cold Snowy Evening, the warm fireplace, the bright lights... what would you add?

So... its a cold snowy day here in Kansas. Winter storm warning, travel discouraged. Blizzard warning in the west. Probably the worst snow day in several years... Inside: warm fire in the fireplace, the place decorated and quiet music.

Whats missing?? A man to spend it with of course.
What else would YOU want in this picture to make it a
wonderful evening. What would complete the picture
if it were you enjoying this kind of evening???

(btw, my bf is 100 miles away and will not be available for me this cold and snowy night....icon_cry.gif

    Merry Christmas! icon_biggrin.gif

Well ideally a nice massage on a mat in front of the fire - since I've been out in the snow splitting knotty pine all morning.

But barring a man in the picture, how about a nice glass of red wine (something a little better than usual) and a good book. Oh, and Floyd says not to forget a furry (four-footed) friend for company.

And the reward for gayest thread on an all gay forum goes to, HndsmKansan.

LOL, just kiddin buddy, what would I add well, for starters a frigidair packed to the gills with delicious num nums for me to gorge myself on.
I'm not a stress eater, but when I can't get sex (which ain't very often) I like to get my kicks from food.

Also, a dvd player and a shitload of audio/visual to keep me entertained. And a phone so I could bitch out my bf for not bein here! icon_razz.gif

Well, I'm having a "Kiss Me You Fool" which is 3 parts chocolate vodka and 1 part black raspberry licqueur. Now, I'm thinking, I need to throw some logs into the fireplace and activate the scarey lifesize, singing, dancing Santa my guy bought last Christmas which scares the bejeezuz out of the dogs. If I hadn't lent my video camera out, I'd shoot and post a video of two adorable french bulldogs tearing Santa's throat to shreds. Oh, well.

The man of my life to spend the evening with, would be enough because I'm still single.

But what to add? My man reading a romantic gay love story to me while I'm resting my head on him.

I didn't know they made chocolate vodka. I have some Chambord, but I don't think it's black raspberry, just plain old red. I sense a trip to Beverages & More in my near future!

I would love to be with my family. I'm stuck in Pullman taking care of everyone's cats and looking at fish DNA. It's a shame.

Well, I'd make sure I had plenty of split wood stacked near the fire so I wouldn't have to go outside for more. I'd put extra logs on the fire to make it bigger.

Then, I'd want good crystal glasses (2 if there were two of us) and 3 parts vodka (Belevedere or Chopin or Grey Goose) with one part Chambord - over ice.

I'd want the lights low (soft pink bulbs in all my lamps - come on - in your 40s you'll do things like that to look swell!)

All that is left is a blanket and two big, soft pillows - and continuous music playing.

The rest we'd make up as we go along!

    to complete the story,
we lay in front of the warm fire on the area rug as we roll around and make out a little. But hear a weird, hollow noise below the rug,
we took up the rug, and notice a wooden slab loose that's not nailed down. we took it up. and there below the floor, stacks of paper.

Ideally I would have a half-dozen dogs running around, their nails clicking on the hardwood floor (it's like a kitten's purring to me), a bunch of my friends trapped at my place because of the storm. Movies, drinks, good tunes, and gingerbread-house-making would ensue.

    and perhaps an orgy later.

does that sound greedy? it sounds greedy.

ugh, fine, just the orgy then.

Ideally, my partner, a pile of pillows on the floor by the fireplace, and maybe some chocolate body paints... icon_biggrin.gif

But since he's a six hour drive away and will be for a few months icon_cry.gif, I'd settle for a good movie, hot mulled cider and very soft blanket...

Tons of snow and a storm warning in effect: Check.
Soft music (and some glitchy electronica too): Check.
Wood burning in the fireplace and more by the door: Check.
Christmas decorations: Zilch – the dinky musical tree set up in the lobby this year is more than enough "glee" for me.

A full bottle of Calvados, four trays of ice cubes, and the rumbling of the snow ploughs below my windows, that I've got. I'd add...

A lurking, voyeuristic stalker – built like a brute, face of an angel – to make this picture-perfect yuletide much more [memorable].

The roaring fireplace, my two dogs stretched out in front of the fire, me lying on the rug in front of the hearth, and suddenly, I look up and say quietly to my Lab, "You know, Marty, your eyes...they change color in the firelight." He turns, licks my face, and...well...

    Draw the veil.

Cream cheese. Because, really, is there any situation that cream cheese does not make better?

All your suggestions sound nice. If I am ever in a situation where I have someone who is in my life to share those times with, I will remember it.

For now tonight, I am just hunkering down waiting for the storm to get to me. I have no fireplace and no one in my life, so it's just me and the TV watching "It's a Wonderful Life" ...

I'd add a nice gaze into the eyes of a guy I'm with. It's been a BUSY year w/work and haven't met anyone all year but that would be good. I'd like to hold hands, have some dinner....lay before the fireplace and snuggle and get a great shag! Trace my fingers around his face and pull him close. Then pull the blanket over our heads, cuddle and snooze....spent and connected.

Actually last night I went to the gym....
and then I shoveled snow when I got home....

Not very romantic, but theres alot more winters nights coming up (maybe without the snow... we don't get this very much here).
