Maybe it's because I grew up during the '90s, but I feel like the 00's have gone by quickly and pretty much was a decade full of war and recession.

I feel like like the 90s was the pop era with stupid silly songs, but I'm starting to like them again!

Not the 90s but this song was the jam in middle school. God I loved middle school. icon_sad.gif Wish I could go back to that time. So many good memories.

Is it just me that is nostaligic for the 90s?

And JC Chasez was sooo cute.

Um the 90s was the decade of grunge and alternative. Pop didn't make a come back until the end.

Amazing choices... although I still dislike acoustic/quiet versions of Teen Spirit because it takes away from the anger of the songs lyrics.

Hell yeah, class of '93 here. I lived it. I loved it. The '90s were a great decade. The economy was good, the world had much more peace, there was optimism.... and then Bush came and fucked everything up.

... not into much of that pop stuff (although I did like the eye candy of the boy bands), but there was some kick ass rock back then.. grunge, industrial and metal. Was a big metalhead up thru '95 or so, then I came out and decided I had to listen to "gay" music for awhile. Glad that phase only lasted a few years! Yeah, for me the early 90's and late 90's were great, with a nasty awkward hole in the middle.

Oh the 90's... I joined the Marines in August 1990, and I reveled in my newfound hotness, bald as an egg with a ripped body for the first time (skinny little sissy bitch before that). I felt beautiful and sexy. I wore all that awful slutty spandex everything with spit shined combat boots to the bars, and danced on top of boxes. Met a beautiful man and fell in love, and he dumped me just as the decade ended (Christmas 1999). This decade didn't start out so great but I'm happy again after a long time...

Legend has it, Kurt Cobain used to listen to Tori's cover when he had trouble sleeping.

But yeah.... nostalgia for me doesn't come from music because I still listen to all the music I listened to in the 90s

I hate to be the shit-talker in this thread but I HATED the 90s. LOL Bland,,,is what I'd label it.

Couldn't stand the beginning of the "mickey mouse club" turned POPstar crap. Nor the watered down horror films thanks to Tipper Gore, etc.

Two good things came out of the 90's that come to mind:

Marilyn Manson's ANTICHRIST SUPERSTAR (damn damn GOOD rock n' roll album of the 90s!) & TO WONG FOO... (heh heh)

    I didn't actually have potential in the 90's, I just thought I did. icon_redface.gif

The 90's were good for a few things. Specifically the Super Nintendo, Captain Planet, and Mighty Max toys. 180px-Temple_of_Venom_%28Open%29.jpg

Some good memories of the 90s:

The Cranberries No Need to Argue
    Madonna's Bedtime Stories
    MTV VJ Kennedy
MTV's Real World San Francisco (Puck and the late Pedro)
"Runaway Train" - a heart-tugging song that I still think about.

I see jrs1 posted Nickelodeon's Doug. One of the best cartoons produced by Nickelodeon. But where's the pic of Donkeylips on Salute Your Shorts? It's not the same without Donkeylips. I also enjoyed "All That" when it was good. Amanda Bynes was probably the last good cast member.

And if I had a jam in the 90s, this would be it:

I also graduated in the 90s - class of '99. So what's not to love about it

I don't necessarily think the 90's were such a great time. It's just that the 00's were really bad that they made the 90's look good in comparison. No matter what happens from here on out, 00's will be remembered for Bush, 9/11, and the war... all things that I absolutely despise. It's sad, but to quote Vanilla Sky, "Every passing moment is another chance to turn it all around."

OMG, I used to live off Nickelodeon.

    Doug

    All That
    Kenan and Kel
    Rugrats
    Hey Arnold
    Cosby Show

and when TRL was cool, lol icon_biggrin.gif

I still think the 80s had way more character and was "cooler"

I agree that the 90s were bland, The 80s had so much creativity and "realness"

Why is America on a decline? We're supposed to be cool man

    Alanis
    Green Day
    No Doubt
    and the return of Aerosmith.

Music videos were my life blood in the 90's, now it seems they are almost non-existent on TV, pretty much have to watch vids online if you want to see them these days it seems.

RowBuddy saidN'Suck was late late 90's. I graduated in 98 and the only people that liked Justin Timberflake back then were the freshmen girls. The music of the 90's was good till about 1996-97 and with the arrival of the pre-fab mickey mouse club bands like Nsync, Britney and Chrustina Uglyhaira, and the like things went downhill very quickly.

No Doubt's Hey baby was more like mid 2001. I remember them performing it on the season premier of SNL my senior year of college.

What about Aggravating Lavigne? Where does she fit in?

I used to work at Nordstrom's. There was a electronic remix of Smells Like Teen Spirit that would play on the speakers. It was gawd awful.

... and Paul Anka should be shot for this:

Luv that song, but the monkey reminds me of last nights episode of South Park:
