    Hey all,

I am about to undergo some undergraduate research and I am soon to be paired with my faculty mentor. I need to come up with a topic to research and I was thinking of doing some sort of research on the GLBT community and was wondering if any of you guys had to do research, what would you want to explore. I think once I meet with my faculty mentor if I have some ideas in my head already, it can help guide our discussion. Anything will help, thanks a lot!!

Yes by all means take on the study of (that big word) that Jake Benson mentioned, I would like to know once and for all time if straight guys are really 'straight' or some mix of dick capability of getting a rise from a gay guy which is not supposed to happen if they're actually 'straight'. Something like that !!! you get the picture !! Don't you?

Im a public health major and will probably be paired with a public health professor so probably something health related but it doesnt have to be. Could really be anything I guess which is partly the problem, so many ideas to think about.

public health... what about something about the non-profit groups or non governmental organizations who deal with HIV/AIDS awareness in your area, particularly among the LGBT community? What are the new areas THEY are looking into?

Public health -- then perhaps something HIV/AIDS related? The perception & understanding of HIV transmission factors in the straight or gay communities, or a comparison of them both?

Many ESL students come from conservative families/societies. Often they are ignorant of health issues that are regularly discussed in (American) society. I'd love for you to research ways to inform these students about public health issues without offending them so much that they block out the information.
