Well I think most of us on here would want to be renamed.. and in a sense we are... with our RJ name.
I would say my real name has more history in religion and Christianity than the gym.

Since we are apparently NOT giving our real names here, this looks like an exercise in pointlessness.

I like my name. Simple. Biblical. Works as a noun and a verb. Unfortunately, one of its meaning is "target for con artsits." yikes!

So, GTB_ ... you love your name. What is it then?

I never considered this question. I've always felt that my name never suited me as a person. At one point I wanted to change it, but I'm content with it. Honestly, there are so many Kevins out there. What does a standard Kevin look like?

Now, my initials definitely do not suit me...KEG. I'm not a beer drinker. LOL!!

in college i started using a longer, more formal version of the name i was called. i still use it and it totaly suits me, to the point where my friends will see a shirt and say it looks "jonathan."
i guess it's a little nerdy and not very athletic though, so i'm not sure if it suits my body?

Which name is he talking about? Our real name or our screen name. Since we dont know each other's real name, hearing an analysis of it is kind of insipid.

I'm not afraid to reveal my real name. It is James and I always thought that in the name department, I got pretty lucky. James is very regal sounding, infact it is the name of several kings throughout history and i think it conjures up feelings of power and confidence. With that said, I think it suits my body quite well, which conjures up the same feelings and more!

My name is Rens. I guess it's more upto others to see how it fits me.
I don't even know what it means. It was my great grandfather's name but it's so rare that I cannot find any information on it, not even on the web.
It's hard to say if it fits you if you don't know what it means...
I think it's a cool name though, I'm happy with it, but does it fit me?

I have no idea & have never given it much thought. I was named after my father & I like the name, though not its shortened version. I always correct people who call me that because ... well because it is not my name.

However since using that name in Real Jock I start enjoying in. Nowadays when I am introducing myself to a gay fellow, Western friend , gay places like club, sauna , gay pick up places and as internet name , it just Zak. It kinda keep easy to pronounce, sexy and fit me fine.

My name's Zach, for reals. I think it suits me better than my full name, Zachary, which only my grandmother calls me. I still like my middle name better...Drew, short for Andrew...

...and hence the mysterious origins of my screenname.

That said, I have no idea which name suits me more, nor why. Very rarely do I meet somebody and think, "Oh! His name SO doesn't suit him!"

•Most folks, if they've had some time to know me a bit before catching my name, will usually comment on just how à propos the name is with regards to my most frequently worn public persona.

•I've never been introduced to, nor spoken to, any other person with my name – well, not on this continent. In that regard, I suppose it also suits me like a custom-made glove. I like my name so much that I've never thought of changing it, even when I assumed false names for laughs I always incorporated the name, though often scrambled beyond recognition.

•I've had very congenial telephone exchanges with some men that were noticeably dumbfounded upon meeting me in person, because, despite my European name, sometimes people who've never seen me automatically presume that I am Black.

•As to whether my name suits my body, I say: Of course! Granted, it suits me a shade more in summer than it does in winter. =D

Granted, it doesn't usually take me much to laugh, but that ridiculously dumbass name – Timothé Poutine Horton – is SO perfect for the next time I want to tell off a local hick!!!!! It's no longer Christmas, so I'll say it: I can't wait to use it on a bona fide prick!!!!

I haven't laughed this hard – in my Amadeus kinda way – since last night in Chinatown. ( http://www.realjock.com/topic/72808/ )

I think the original poster was referring to our screen names. I'm a professor and I am occasionally still a fast runner. So I guess my screen name is rooted in some physical reality. I'm too intimidated by most guys on this site to use a screen name more reserved for porn stars, or guys with incredibly hot bodies.

My name is Michael and I live on Main Street (no mystery here).

From http://www.behindthename.com/

MICHAEL
From the Hebrew name מִיכָאֵל (Mikha'el) which meant "who is like God?". This is the name of one of the seven archangels in Hebrew tradition and the only one identified as an archangel in the Bible. In the Book of Revelation in the New Testament he is portrayed as the leader of heaven's armies, and thus is considered the patron saint of soldiers.

I have to admit, I don't really understand the "who is like God?" question. Should it be spoken as a challenge? Is it philosophical? What is my motivation? Maybe it's valleyspeak, as in "Who is, like, God?"

Jordan Statz... well Jordan is "Of the river Jordan" with an implied religious connotation - I guess I'm thin like most religious figures .

Statz though, looking (it is actually pronounced with a long "a" sound) a lot like "stats" definitely applies, because my stats are so odd.

The Bible use that rhetorical question to address Jewish God is unique and unmatched among Pagan gods, or men, like kings and heros. It's a praise in question form.
