I pulled a muscle in my right calf running last week. Like the moron that I am, I kept up with the weight training, tennis and even more running. Needless to say it got worse. I now have a small tear. I am out for 21 days.

Anyone else have an injury that put them out for awhile? Is 21 days a bit long?

I tore and/or strained just about all my hip flexors which put me out for about 3 months, 9 more months to get rehabbed and to get my strength back to run. I had achilles tendonitis for about 6 weeks this Fall.

It is frustrating, but consider yourself fortunate and don't play with fire. Calve strains can lead to other things, like achilles tendonitis which you really don't want either. So no 21 days isn't too long. Good luck! I feel for you. Be mindful of what your body's telling you when you're coming back.

I tore my ACL and continued training "around " it (?) until I severed it - but you have to have the surgey either way & no - 21 days is not a long time for a tear - I tore my bicept & was off upper body for 90 days - good luck

Dec 9th, 2008: Broken tibia and dislocated ankle

NOV 24, 2009: 3-1/2 weeks left of physical therapy

It took about 11 months before I was able to do full workouts like the program I'm on right now. Meanwhile, my unit has been deployed since May. It does feel like being put out to pasture.

Tore my knee cartilage while running cross-country during an Army PT session, months of limping before they got around to the surgery, then another 6 months afterwards before I could run again.
