I assume this has been asked in one way or another before, but I figure I'll go ahead and make my contribution, because I think all of our cases are unique in one way or another icon_smile.gif

I'm just having trouble finding well... anyone..

I feel like my standards are where they should be, but people can frustrate me pretty easily.

Also, I'm not really into the whole bar or club scene, because I don't drink and that crowd tends to be a bit dissapointing.

I feel like I'm in a pretty accessible area (near LA, etc.)

    Any suggestions?

Your case is not unique at all.

Many, many people don't like the bars. They go there because they want a piece of ass or they want to make friends or they want to find the love of their life. And yes, you could blow some guy in a bathroom stall and get married to him a few years later. But, you aren't going to meet Mr. Right by staying at home.

A few things I can think of would be through friends at the gym or through gay groups. Is there a group for an activity or interest of yours? I don't know L.A. - but usually there's groups for different sports, leagues, hiking & other outdoor activities in metropolitan areas. Is there a gay communtiy center? A charity you're interested in? Be patient - you may just make friends at first, but the more people you know, the more chances you have to meet guys outside of bars. Good luck.
