Because it changes nothing, and everything.

The sky won't fall in on you. You're life will go on even once you come out.

But, somehow, the world will seem an easier place to live in because you are no longer living a lie. You can stand upright because you no longer feel the shame (and yes, if you are in the closet, you feel shame) that you once did.

    You'll breathe so much easier.

Trust me, I stayed in the closet way too long, and I am so glad I came out.

And, now that I am out, I finally found the love of my life, rather than just looking for a trick.

Good luck to you whatever your decision.

Oh, and as far as the first part of the question--a smile and some eye contact go a long, long way.

Letting a guy know yourgay without saying it out loud.

    Easy

    - ram your tongue down his throat
    - wrap your lips around his dick
    - grab his crotch
    - tell him your wear underwear from Calvin Klein, like Barbra Streisand and vacation in Provincetown
    - offer to do his hair
    - give him fashion advice
    - ask him who he thinks is hotter: Robert Pattison or Taylor Lautner
    - well admitting you watched "new moon" should do the trick

According to this list, I am bisexual at best.

Can't you people resist being smart-asses even when there's a direct request for help?

    Pathetic.

Looking at his crotch and saying "Nice basket...Is it Easter?" has always worked for me icon_cool.gif

So you want your friend to know you're interested in him without saying it?
This doesn't really make any sense. If you want something, you have to put yourself out there. Sometimes getting what you want involves a sacrifice. But since this guy's a friend, and you're not sure if he's gay, my advice would be to leave it alone, and not create unnecessary problems for yourself.

    Hahahahahaha...

Do what I did, just live your life the way you want to live it. Forget what others think. True friends will accept you no matter what.

I was/am the same way. So now i don't "come out" to people per say - i just show up with my boyfriend and casually give him kisses etc icon_razz.gif (or various things)

I was/am very pissed off about "having to" come out to people and i decided if straight ppl don't have to deal with it - i won't either. I'm just going to BE gay and if they're shocked, i'm going to turn around and be just as shocked that THEY are straight.

*sigh* This though is what makes me REALLY wish i was around in the "bandana" era!

Coming out should be on your own terms in your own time. It is not something that needs to happen, especially if you currently live in an environment that would not be accepting.

I basically came out at the age of 19, the first year I attended college. I was totally out and politically active. Actually I wish I had been a little more selective in who knew. I've had a lot of difficult situations to deal with since then, because people knew. I thought it would get easier but still, it hasn't. I am somewhat reserved and introverted by nature, and I can honestly admit that has more to do with the problem than anything.

Once you start telling people it gets so much easier. I'm not saying to go out and scream to the world you are. Best thing to do, is to tell your family, tell your closest friends, and then chatter happens from there. If someone asks, say yeah, if someone doesn't ask, don't say anything about it just continue on with your day.

And how to let a guy know without saying anything, bring a lot of gay friends around him or have one friend and just show much affection. not a full make out scene but a longer handshake more arm touching, smile and look at him more often.

    Don't talk - just kiss.

Sorry I couldn't resist. Humour aside - it is a foolproof methodology.

BTW in terms of actual usable advice - perhaps you shouldn't be putting moves on him if he isn't into kissing boys... cos from what you've said it doesn't sound as though he is. And usually that's needed if you wanna have a thing with a guy.

    Good luck. icon_smile.gif
