I have decided to get my life in order and one of the biggest things i need to do is get my body back into shape. Yet I have no clue what to do.

College and major illness caused me to gain close to 70 pounds. I have fluctuated this last year alone by 40 pounds. I am now at a point where i am healthy enough to seriously make an attempt to get back into shape.

here is my problem...I have no idea what to do. In high school i was part of numerous team sports, so we had highly structured routines. On my own i have no clue what to do.

I need to be successful this time. I cant live life on the fringe of everything. I want to be comfortable taking my shirt off at the beach or the night club. please any advice on exercise, diet, etc. etc. is welcome!

Since you've had a major illness recently, you should consult with your doctor about a sensible weight loss plan. That will also provide you with a framework for changing your life. Once you have that aspect under control, I'd get recommendations for a local gym and consult with the resident trainer about what your goals are, and let him or her develop a plan that works for you. It's important that whatever you do is something that you can incorporate into your everyday life, and that you feel comfortable with, so that you will have lasting results. Best of luck on your journey!
