As a few of you guys who I communicate with know, after graduating from MIT Sloan I became part of a new global operations team in Dubai. Though working in a Muslim country has been tough at times, I do get home every few months. The Thanksgiving Holiday has been one of those times.

My post however, is to do something that is going to get me in BIG TROUBLE. I'll use no names!!

THANK YOU Short Round FOR THE VIEW FROM THE 50TH!!! And thank you for allowing me to see what few will ever see -- and if they were to see, the absolute knowledge that they would never understand. We shall conquer and we shall survive.

See you in a few months guys.

    Ted

Well, this is nice, but meaningless except to "Short Round." Wouldn't an email be better, than to start an enigmatic thread that no one can decipher? icon_confused.gif

Who ever "Short Round" is, why didn't you send a PM to him, since I find it hard to believe that anyone else here would have a clue as to what you're talking about ?

The point is, until you've done DMT, you will never "get it".

ATLTED gets it. I am jealous.

If you're talking about the psychedelic drug dimethyltryptamine (DMT) you are correct -- I have never done it. Now you are being as obtuse as the OP. Please relate your comments to "Short Round" and we may be making some progress here. Or is short round a slang for taking some DMT? You might save us the trouble and simply say so.

Oops, you are correct, sir. I plead incipient senility.

No worries. It's useless trivia; I would probably be better off not knowing it and replacing it with something useful, instead icon_biggrin.gif

    You're right,
    I was being silly.

    serious-face.jpg

I was hoping someone who knew more about the subject would post... or maybe even the OP! But he did say goodbye for a few months. I guess I wanted you to infer that the OP had a near-death experience or had done some sort of psychedelic drug, thus opening his eyes to a new realm of thought.

DMT is released into the brain if
    A) You are about to die.
    or
    B) You put it there.
It is said to reveal "Secrets of the universe", or "The absolute knowledge that they would never understand" (See OP). It seemed fitting.

Oh, and it seems to me that "Short Round" is pretty clearly his nickname for the person he is referring to. It wouldn't have any meaning with us unless he explained the unrelated past he has with short round. I think we need to try and decipher the relation of the first paragraph to the third and THEN try to understand what short round revealed to him.

I truly hope that short round is not a doomsday cult leader.

Some of them really are bad for you, not to mention their prominent place in the Penal Code.

Anything that is supposed to reveal the hidden secrets of the universe in pill form is probably bad for you.

I wouldn't say it's "Supposed to". Actually, DMT is naturally occurring in your brain. From what I've heard the "white light" that people see when they've had near death experiences is DMT entering the equation, trying to guard the body from immense pain. It provides an escape from the bloody gooey reality.

I would say, however, that an unstable person can suffer horrible psychological results from experimenting with psychedelic drugs and not having the ability to understand what is happening to their brain to produce the things they perceive.

    Research first, THEN experiment.

(Oh, I wouldn't actually try DMT by the way...but it interests me)

    >>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>> you wrote "research first, THEN experiment" !!! I submit that there's been plenty of research done that shows no real long term positive benefit for psychodelic drugs, for the normal healthy young man like yourself. Heroin, cocaine and etc, appears to rewire the brain which in turn tells the brain it needs those drugs. So don't take any of them, use the research that's already out there that shows you don't need any of them. Besides, look at your young healthy strong body in the mirror, and take that for another reason not to experiment with drugs. I do feel better that you said you "wouldn't actually try DMT", but just in case your tempted to waver, I felt the need to inspire you not to do drugs.

I would guess that most people experimenting with, or addicted to these kinds of drugs don't really think in the long-term about what they're ingesting. I really doubt they're looking for any "benefits" that extend past escaping today.

Oh, and I left out "weigh the pros and cons". After research, before experiment.

Thank you for looking out for me icon_redface.gif Rest assured, I haven't and wont stray past Marijuana.
