I honestly can't remember ever reading about someone actually being at home when somebody broke in, and the homeowner actually defending his home and family from the intruder.
Meth + Paranoia + a Gun = a (sooner or later) Dead Gun Owner
Well, I don't do meth or other drugs, but I did once have someone break into a home I was living in, in Hollywood in 1995. I was renting the house from a friend at the time.
Anyway, I was asleep, it was about 2AM, and I'm awakened by the sound of glass shattering in the kitchen. I get up, grab my old .38 revolver, and go into the kitchen just in time to see some young guy climbing through my window and into my house!
I yelled something (I don't remember what) and levelled the gun at him. He saw me drawing down on him, and he LEAPED right out that window so fast I almost laughed! By the time I got the door open to chase him, he was already at the end of the block and running like the wind!
So, now you can say you've heard of someone who actually defended his home, with a gun, from an intruder.
