stealing from AIDS patients! ... icon_rolleyes.gif

"The former program co-ordinator for AIDS P.E.I. should be sent to the provincial correctional centre for between six and nine months for stealing more than $80,000 from her former employer, a provincial court judge was told Tuesday.

Crown prosecutor John McMillan said Angela MacKinnon should not receive a conditional jail sentence for her crimes, as has been the case with so many other persons who’ve committed offences involving a breach of trust.
McMillan said what sets MacKinnon’s case apart from most other cases is the fact that she stole not from government or from a business but from a charitable organization, one which exists to assist Islanders with HIV/AIDS."

Yep - you do the crime you do the time - in this case she took from an organization was operating on an annual budget of 100,00 to 150,000 a year.

So, she technically wiped out over half a year of funding - and in this case took it from a charity for one of the most marginalized groups on the planet - those living with AIDS, some of them pretty destitute and abandoned by their families.

Watch her pull the ol' insanity plea.
