a: Are you just trying to get along in life?
Not in any kind of hand to mouth way. I see each day as a chance to maybe understand a little bit better how I can make this thing called life just a tiny bit better for someone.
b: Are you sexy and people envy you?
Sexy is in the eye of the beholder. And, no, I don't think I am. One of the things I chip away at is letting myself feel a little sexier. For too long I've thought about sex as a pathology, not an appetite, or a need, or path to joy. With the old mindset 'sexy' wasn't a tag I would have aspired to wear.
If anybody envies me, I don't think it's because they think I'm sexier than they are.
c: Do you think that one day THE SOUTH WILL RISE AGAIN?
In many ways it has. The south exerts a conservative and Christian influence on our politics and culture out of proportion with the region's population or economic significance. As a region, the south has, despite its politicians' railing against 'government-directed wealth re-distribution', managed to become the beneficiary of huge inflows of federal money, most of which comes from northern blue states. If there's going to be another secession, I predict it will the northeast and west coast states leaving the union to join Canada. (We'll take Iowa too !)
d: Have you ever been told that you are the best boyfriend ever?
I have, which tells me my bf has a poor memory or has had some pretty awful bf's in the past.
e: What are you doing right now?
Begging my mechanic to make time to put the snow tires on my car before the first snow storm of the season arrives this afternoon.
