I'm curious to find out if anyone would actually date a cop. I'm interested to know if it would be for sexual reasons(like the whole men in unifrom thing), or would you actually want to be in a committed relationship with a cop. Taking into account, awkward late night shifts, stress, etc.

Certainly! granted everything else about him was OK .. as far as stress, I could help work that out of him icon_twisted.gif

If I liked a guy, his line of work wouldn't be much of an issue with me unless it was something I was uncomfortable with. I wouldn't be uncomfortable dating a police officer.

Well, I'd be lying if I said the whole hero thing wasn't kind of a turn on, and yes, I'm sure I'd love seeing him in uniform, but I'd be a little worried about him, too. Still, I'd totally date one.

I, being the long-term relationship thinker I am, would be concerned about any man I was dating who was in harm's way frequently. I don't think it would keep me from dating one, but it would be something to think about.

Then again my travel and hours are a tough pill to swallow as well. But my likelihood of severe bodily harm in a conference room is much, much lower.

Mmm that job is too dangerous too me. I couldn't deal with that type of stress.knowing he can be hurt on the job.
    So no.

I would probably be an absolute wreck. Having someone that you love be in some form of danger at many times would be tough. This also includes firemen and paramedics.

But, if he was the right guy it certainly wouldn't stop me. =)

The whole uniform thing is a MAJOR plus. =)

How dare you imply that I haven't already dated a cop! Many, many, many cops, at least they told me they were cops....I became a little suspicious when they used the plastic handcuffs. -Doing my best Blanch Devereaux impression. icon_lol.gificon_lol.gificon_lol.gif

Yes, I've dated a couple of cops. They were fine to date, but they both were very hard to get to know personally.....lots of walls.

I've dated two cops...one in 1997, and a guy who was a fireman (2007) who is now a state trooper in New Jersey. It was just like dating any other guy.

I gotta tell ya, though, both were highly opposed to anyone's suggestion (as in, my friends), that either one would show up at my house in uniform ready for action. The truth is, the uniform put both of them into a state of mind that is far, far removed from any interest in sex...it reminded them of work, I imagine, and very serious work at that. Therefore, I believe that association would render either one disinterested if there were dressed up for their day jobs.

I would! My step dad was a cop and he ran a side business of roofing and aluminum siding when I was a teenager and I would work for him. There were always younger cops around who wanted to earn some extra bucks so my step dad would hire them. Some of these guys were really HOT! icon_biggrin.gif

Hell YES... cops make the best bottoms... seriously.
but FBI agents and security guards... I would avoid... trust me on this guys

The only real difficultly in dating a cop is their COCKY ATTITUDE. Every cop especially gay cops think they have to be cocky and aggressive to be taken seriously in their job and maybe they do but, it usually spills over into the dating relationship and that SUCKS.

A cocky attitude may make them a better cop and a very hot bottom during sex.. but after that.. you'll need to call in the therapist to help them adjust

i've dated a los angeles police officer and an arizona state trooper. both were incredibly great guys. unfortunately, i wasn't ready at the time to settle down with either of them, not because of their professions, but because i didn't feel like i was ready to commit to just one person.

Why not, mostly cops are responsible and great men. If he is what am looking for then no reason to not fall for him.

The other was an inmate. icon_lol.gificon_lol.gificon_lol.gif

I have to definitely agree with this observation.

I know when my last boyfriend put on his uniform, his personality almost completely changed.

I think it's true- You act like you dress.

I'm just predispositioned(if thats a word) to hate cops.... and as ive grown older ive found smarter and better ways to back up my argument.

cops are the people that i know that were not smart enough to get a normal degree

cops are the jackasses in search of some power trip through their carrier

after training cops think that in no matter what situation that they would be better off that your average "civilian"

just recently at a football game and this guy was getting kicked out and told the cops to get his hand off him and that he'll just leave... cop ignored the guy and the guy said " well fuck you too you crispy cream eating piece of shit" and then ripped his arm from the cops grip.

then the cops whipped out his night stick and threatened the guy waving his night stick around.

just goes to show how unprofessional some cops are and they are just authority seeking immature dicks... it was hilarious watching the cop try to collapse his night stick afterwards cuz it took him like five tries as he was trying so hard to look tough.

    i hate cops

mind you I've dealt with some very reasonable cops that are great people that i would surely date...

but if i had to pick between a blind date with a cop or some one which i have no info... i wouldn't pick the cop...

    IMO

I'd date a cop, I usually work the graveyard shift it being my prefered shifticon_lol.gif What can I say I prefer sleeping during the day. And i'm more of a home buddy , & prefer my privacy, so he wouldn't have to worry about anyone from his unit knowing from meicon_wink.gif
