any guy meeting you for the first time NOW doesn't care how you looked in the past; he's interested in you NOW, TODAY.

why show a pic that demonstrates how har downhill you have gone???

I don't think its a problem, provided you disclose when the pic was taken.
The majority of mine are from this year or from 2008.

I guess these guys yearn for their younger selves. But these old pics are false advertising.

I think a hot guy who matures is even hotter in his 40's and into his 50's.

It's about not letting yourself go, and being the best you can be at almost any age.

The OP is the perfect example of why I use the photo I do on this website. It is the most recent I have, as bad as it is.

One reason could be that they are not so sure they like who they are now. Hence still trying to live past in someway.

Oh I don't know... maybe it's because I don't really care about another person's tantrums about my pics. My photos run the gambit of being a few months to 5 years old. But guess what? It's my profile and I can post whichever pics I want, regardless of how current they are. Not everyone on here is trying to impress the entire world, and even if they are, they have the right to do so however they see fit.

Because I really don't look all that different in the older pictures.

I have pics from the last 5 years but my most recent pic is the one at Barracuda. I don't like how I look in pictures so I tend to shy away from the camera.

Mine are a mixture of 3 years old to current (the one with me in the black jacket next to the Christmas tree). I have a pic that is 10 years old of me that a friend found when helping me look through some boxes and he remarked that he hated me because I haven't changed at all.

Who cares how old the photo is, as long as it looks like the person in it? I'm more bothered by those who use headless torso shots in multiple that are obviously several different people.

I add new photos, but don't always get ride of the old, so I have a string of 5 years, but I think I have the year on most of them, and they are in order.

I don't really care, but I do think some people have better things to do than post new pictures of themselves every week. Some people hit a plateau with putting on muscle and they don't put up new pics till they get the ball rolling again. Plenty of reasons. Even if people did post new pictures of themselves every week, you know they would all be those one or two pictures from that certain angle, in a particular light that makes them look better than they actually do in person. That probably bothers me more than having pics that are a few years old.

I have one of me at age 1 or 2... but it's not my only picture.
Even so, I still think I looked cuter then.

well 2 years doesn't change you that much.
    5 years, yes.
not much point indeed unless it's to show some special event or travel etc.

but i agree there should at least be one really recent picture

It's the progress, either through a slimming down routine, buffing up and naturally the ageing process. I know I like to see what one was and what one has become? Needless to say dating the phot's does help.icon_rolleyes.gif

it is simply to show that while they may look like trolls now: at one time way in the distant past, in a universe far far far away they once looked somewhat easy on the eyes.

Its like looking at a high school year book .. it's fun

P.S. I like to see a range of photos of a person because it tells me more about them. At least ONE of "what they look" like now would be good for identifying someone IF I am going to meet them out somewhere. But I get the impression some people have this shopping cart mentality .. where the other person is produce for you to choose.

I think it depends on whether you use this site to hook up or find a partner (among other reasons for the site). If that's the case then it's pointless to have outdated pics of oneself since the goal may be to meet..same with changing ones age on their profile. Granted, it's your profile...but don't be surprised if the feedback you get in person is not the same. Otherwise, I think it's nice when one wants to share their childhood pics. Mine are within a 18 mth span.

My private pics on RJ show a range of images going back about 8 years, because I think they're reflective of who I am and what I've done. But I do date my personal pics, so you can see for yourself how I've aged, no deceit going on. I just think some are interesting pics taken at those times, that I choose to share.

My main pic, BTW, was taken New Year's Eve 2006, when I was just turning 57. I look a lot worse today at 60, but in featuring my new iPhone, I selected a pic that I thought worked well when pasted into Apple's production shot in black.

I try to keep recent pictures. I would never post something from way back when I was younger and had no sense of style, be it clothes or hair. Those days are gone and I'd like them to stay gone. I think I'm getting better as I age. Although I hate that I'm aging. I get people telling me all the time that I haven't aged, but I see it when I look in the mirror....sometimes. Now, I don't know why people have a big misconception about what muscular looks like, or is....because there are quite a few profiles I have seen, here and on other sites where people describe themselves as muscular, but I don't see a thread of muscle anywhere...yes you have muscles, everyone does, but to describe yourself as muscular.....people have to be able to see these muscles.
