That's the number of calories I had left for Sunday. I allow myself 2,300 but usually fall somewhere between 1700 and 2000. My schedule on the weekends is a little crazy workwise.

Should I carry over any unconsumed calories to the next day?

I always find it better just to stick with my plan. it's good to vary your caloric intake to a degree so your metabolism doesn't slow as it gets used to a lower consumption of calories, but almost 900 calories is a large deviation. Maybe try to eat on the upper end of the range you've allotted yourself?

try to avoid super famine days: your body doesn´t like them, starts to shut down. Have a store of healthy bars whatever in your car so that you can eat them quickly, or take a cooler or food bag to work (depends on what you do) so you always have the right food. Sadly to eat well in the west you have to plan very carefully: it won´t happen by mistake. Not having famine days will also make it easier to sustain long term...

    keep going.

while day to day is good to know, try to be more concerned with a week, some days you can be over, some under but over the course of a week you want to try to be spot on.

if your more comfortable with day to day right now while you establish your routine of healthy eating and so on and those are the calories you have worked out that you need then it's best to try and get your targets on a daily basis, constantly being low can cause problems, mostly with trying to consistently lose weight over a long period, plus, you'll end up being more hungry and more likely to possibly make bad choices when it suddenly hits and you need food NOW... I know for me after about a week of being low on my calories I'll get a food craving that isn't satisfied until I've just eaten my way through my cupboards hehe

If you find your self constantly unable to meet your mark, try carrying around nut mixture, they are filled with healthy fats, moderately high calorie value, taste good, easy to eat and just damned good.
