If you saw a RealJock in real life, would you say hello & introduce yourself, even if you'd never communicated before?

I was talking to another member today (who is a real sweetheart) who lives in a large metropolitan area. One where a lot of realjock members also live. He said he sees guys that he recognizes quite often, but doesn't say hello & introduce himself. Would you? If not, why? For the record, I would in a heartbeat. What's the worse that could happen? The guy gives me the brush off? Whatever, the world is full of assholes. But,I think it's more likely that we'd strike up a conversation and kick start a friendship.

No, I'd probably just try to replicate the pose in my avatar. I'd have to find a good light source and just freeze there. I got noticed in a gay bar once because I was shirtless and dancing with my hands on my hips. I looked just like my avatar and some RealJocker noticed me.

I always seem to forget that the forums are just the tip of the RJ iceberg, so if someone comes up and says 'hey, I recognize you from online' and I don't immediately recognize them as a regular forum poster, I kinda get freaked momentarily. Still, it's usually nice; I've met some cool peeps through this place, and it's good to finally meet them in the flesh.

I wouldn't hesitate if it was the proper venue. Otherwise, I might be a little
    hesitant.

If there was no previous communication, no.
If there was previous communication, maybe.

Despite having a profile up on the internet, some guys don't like to be approached in public for whatever reason. If I recognize someone, I might look over his way and give a friendly nod. Or I might just send a message later that day and let him know I saw him at so-and-so location. Often times the response will either be.. "that's cool [silence]" or "next time come over and say hi".

zdrew was an impetuous, impertinent little shitstain. His creator, jprichva, took him back to the basement laboratory and exposed him to caffeine and possibly fed him after midnight. The result is Lord Thundermunt, which, in MeOhMy-speak, roughly translates into "He Who Is Supremely Cuntish."

I can get rather nervous meeting new people at times and others just walk up and chat with complete strangers. But hmm, I would imagine I wouldn't walk up and say hi would think about it but don't think I would do that because don't know how they would react, but if someone walked up to me and said hi I recognize you, I would be glad to chat lol.

I know GuerrillaSodomite, TigerTim, Captaindave4, and Dancinchuck. I probably know some others, too....

I actively seek out friendships with people from here based on what they post. This is a great place to meet people. Of course I'd introduce myself.

depends on the situation, normally I think I would...But one time I saw a RJer who I've tried to chat with via email, and he never responded to my emails, so I didn't think it was appropriate to say Hi...

Of course I would. Why on earth would your friend not want to do so?

In fact, I just did last week at Golds in Oakland. We had a nice conversation.

I'd understand your friend's reticence if this were Adam-4-Adam....or any sleezy hook up site. But it's not.

That was a friend of yours? I wish I would have known. I thought he was a crazy stalker and the police took him away. I am so sorry icon_redface.gif

Why not? I'm sure we could have some fun together. Maybe arm wrestle like all macho straight men do. icon_lol.gif

I have met on RJer so far and it was wonderful company. I plan on another rendesvous in the near future, bear hugs and all. icon_biggrin.gif

What's the worst that could happen? Blow you off? No worries, just take a breath and move on. Fish in the sea and all that...
