I have a MAC and Google just unveiled CHROME for the Mac.

I tried playing around with it today and though I love just about everything Google....I can't really figure out what makes CHROME any better than FIREFOX...which I am currently using.

There is a neat feature on Chrome though....you can go "incognito"- meaning you can open a screen, browse porn stuff and when you close that particular browser window there is absolutely no record or history whatsoever of what you were browsing. Kind of neat. But not compelling enough for me to switch browsers....

    How about it guys?

Which browser do you use....and why?

Chrome renders web pages a lot faster. But it lacks extensions, can't manually tweak settings (like FF's about:config), still doesn't render some sites properly, and all your browsing habits/history gets sent back to Google for target advertising when you visit a website that's running Google Adsense.

Firefox has a porn mode too. CTRL+SHIFT+P to enter porn mode, and again to exit. It's also in the Tools menu.

I use Firefox as my daily browser, but I'm kinda getting fed up with the bloat with each new release. The extensions are really why I use it..Adblock Plus, NoScript, Web Developer, Firebug.

Chrome is going to have extension support in the next release. But so far, I haven't seen any that are useful. In the meantime, I'll put up with Firefox.

Chrome. It's like Firefox... but quicker and cleaner. All (or many) of those extensions that you add onto firefox are already included... the code is cleaner so it runs faster. I love it.

Safari also has "porn mode", or private browsing.

    Go to Safari menu>Private Browsing.

That said, I'm loving Chrome. Otherwise, Safari for me.

Don't make me catch the first dog sled up there and plant a mukluk up your narrow yet delectable ass.

Oh, and it's working now. I must have been spelling shit right by accident.

I'd plant one up your ass too, Dan, but I'd most likely lose my leg at the hip.icon_wink.gif

Chrome has been out for mac for ages, they just for some reason keep announcing that it's out for mac...

I use firefox though, it's got firebug which I need, plus a ton of other things too that Chrome just doesn't have.

I use Chrome. Much more stable than IE, it's simple and straight to the point. Before I switched to Chrome I was using Avant for a long time.

FF (that's Firefox, not fist-fuck) - because chrome doesn't have all the neat extensions and addons. i only use IE when i go to some store in the mall that has winblows running and only has exploder installed.

Use Firefox and Google Chrome. Firefox is pretty good but takes a lot of time to initially load up whereas Chrome is quick. Plus Google sites like gmail, youtube etc work great in Chrome.

Firefox, because my friend recommended it and I'm too inept to compare multiple browsers.

Safari 4.0.4 for Mac. And it does have Private Browsing, as look_alive states.

Runs as fast or faster than anything else I've tried on my Mac, including Opera, which I don't think anyone has mentioned yet. It also matches my iPhone Safari, all the bookmarks update back and forth during syncs. Just seems to integrate with the rest of my Mac features quicker, like automatic address mapping from the Address Book, or using Grab for screen captures or direct image imports from my iPhone or digital camera, using the Safari Services menu.
