"love" happens when you least expect it...

for too many years i tried to find a member of the opposite sex to fall in love with and be happy with.

never happened, obviously...

when i "figured things out" and realized i perferred guys to girls; i thought i would find a Great Guy to fall for and be happy with. this also didn't happen nearly as quickly as i hoped it would.

i had given up on the concept of "love"; was resigned to spending what time i have left on this earth alone.

when i least expected it; when i had given up on the concept, when i was just looking for a fucky buddy, i/we fell in love with each other.

his pic is on my profile page.

I'd really like for someone to elaborate on why that (supposedly) is. Coz for the life of me, I can't see the logic behind such an assertion!

I could never understand the concept behind this assertion, but it's true. My partner and I were not looking for love, but one day, we found each other - again. We're still happily together after several years.

I would say he must have been desperate- there's no other reason

Awwwwwe! I LOVE that!
I'm so happy for you.... really truly!

I fall in love ALL the time... usually with ice cream, cookies and donuts though.
It's true love everytime... "ahhhhh!"

Supposedly, it is because you are no longer looking, concentrating more on yourself, enjoying the life you have made for yourself. You drop your guard and all your silly check list; then either by coincident or accident you meet someone who also has come to the same self actualization.

I don't know why this is - but more often than not it seems to be true. I certainly had no plans on meeting my last partner at 3:50am in a random bar in the E. Village 5 minutes after I entered the joint! And yet, I knew when we walked out that door and exchanged numbers that there was something markedly different about him. Just a "feeling". His being into Led Zeppelin and King Crimson didn't hurt.

I am SOOOO happy for you! You seem like a very sweet guy. Take things one day at a time... you deserve some good lovin'! (well hey... we all do!!)

xo, ant.

Is there a difference between "no longer looking" and "can't be bothered?" Hahaha

One is hot, the other, is not...

can you guess which ;)

Those who tell me "they aren't looking" are usually bullshitting me and trying to bullshit them self.. (and that aint hot)

That's a good question, but I'm no longer looking for the answer so, I can't be bothered to think about it...

What about all those people who found love while actually searching for it on Match.com? lol
Dec 09, 2009 10:55 PM GMT
Well...
As the wedding singer once put it:

Congrats.
You're not single anymore, so update your profile. ..unless you're hoping something better comes along.

So glad for you. I do believe in that, because I definitely was not looking for it when love struck.

Congratulations!
