I have the hardest time shopping for Christmas gifts for friends and family. What unique ideas do you have?!

This is a decent one for personalized ornaments:

Who wouldn't appreciate birthing the baby Jesus to celebrate the holiday?

For my bf, I got myself a flight out to spend Christmas with him. (I guess that's as much for me as him - I'll admit it.)

Other than that, I'm giving my time and effort for several local charities/assistance organizations for the holiday.

Gift cards, either to favorite restaurants or stores. Or, take them shopping to buy what they want/need, so you can spend time together.

Wine or liquor, for those into that.

For family members, gather family photos, scan them, then make a photo album, either in a book or CD/DVD.

Create 'coupons' on your computer, entitling the bearer to so many hours of your time to help them with those projects around the house they are not fond of doing.

Thinkgeek.com is where I usually head. They have a ton of neat stuff. Tauntaun Sleeping bags anyone? ( wow. I'm a huge nerd)

15 days till Christmas. 14 more shopping days.

donating to a charity (do your research) and making it the name of someone dear to you.

hence: Oxfam ... and spending up to $100 for a woman to start her own business - $45-75 for a butt-load of rice for a small village ... etc.

I've convinced my family to stop the whole present thing--we're all adults who have too much stuff as it is. Makes the holidays simple.

    Cookies! You gotta make 'em.

    Really nice candles.

Penzey's spices in gift packs. They have boxes you can customize.

for entertainers: Nice barware. I am thinking about getting a friend a good set of rocks glasses.

An ornamental bowl such as you would use for a centerpiece

    Really good chocolates

books, like maybe a nice atlas for someone who likes to travel

    for a kid: a globe

For a kid whose parents you hate: a drum and a tambourine

    fancy jigsaw puzzles
