    Hiye!

    Some advice is needed here.
According to the Harris-Benedict estimate, my Baseline Metabolism is 2,182 calories per day. Plus lifestyle I need some 3400 Kcals a day.
The lose weight plans here in RJ round on 2000 Kcal/day.
Where's the catch? icon_lol.gif How could I stick with a plan that provides me with less than the Kcals I just need to live?

    TNX!

Well, you could let your body provide the additional calories by metabolizing your fat. That how dieting works. Just be sure that in what you eat you still your necessary nutrition.

You should bring on about 600 calories a day less than you require to maintain so that you'll lose about 1.5 pounds a week.

May I recommend a periodic change in your calorie intake, because the body and mind respond poorly to routine eating habits, keeping excess fat. Keep it guessing. Every 2-3 days, change the calorie intake plan with less than your requirement. Common Sense and Patience will get you victory. The body likes to keep the excess fat-DNA from our cave man ancestors. I think of it as a war game. You have an army of soldiers (Negative Force) who guard and keep excess fat in store houses. The other army (Positive Force) who break in and use it up (weight loss). Stay active throughout the day to allow P-Force to use the excess fat for the daily needs.

I am sort of a skeptic when it comes to those BMR estimates because they do not account for amount of lean body mass or individual genetic variation in metabolism. For example im 6'1" and 210-215 which puts my BMR at around 2150 Kcals per day and with my level of activity (training for a marathon run around 30+ miles per week, plus lift 1 hour 5 days per week) I should be consuming somewhere around 3700 a day. I usually try to keep my intake around 2000 which should mean I would lose 3lbs a week and I definately don't.

Based on my weight history I think I just store fat very easily relative to some other people (I am an endomorph-mesomorph type as apposed to ectomorphs body types that gain weight and muscle mass very slowly). I am done ranting about the generalizations of those calculators but it is a good starting point I guess.

You will live if you consume 2000 Kcals a day trust me.
