Hey are there any people who don't drink (alcohol) at all? I feel like I am like one of 5 people. icon_sad.gif

If you never drank why? Or if you did but don't anymore, then why?

Culturally,,,,never had any alcohol in the house EVER so i was exposed to alcohol really when i hit college...even then, i guess i made the wrong or "right" type of friends because i would see them when they would drink and i'd think to my self "i never EVER wann be like THAT ever"...and the taste didn't do much for me. As for alcohol being a social lubricant...well...i'm lubricated enough naturally.icon_wink.gif

    Jmuscle33,

Do you think you'll never have a drink at all? I mean, you're 20. I never did underage drinking myself. My first drink was when I was 23. I only drink socially, which means rarely.

I have never been drunk in my life and drink very rarely, meaning on average once a month and then only one glass of beer, champagne or a cocktail. It helps that I don't like wine, most beers and champagnes

Sometimes alcohol interferes with my sleep-meds, which makes it easy to resist. When I was still living in Germany and going out to bars and clubs, I lived in the 'burbs and didn't want to drink & drive or drink & trickicon_rolleyes.gif, so I stuck to soft-drinks or water.

I dont drink anymore. I did when I was younger when I went out. But after the years go by, you get tired of the foggy head the next morning. You wonder why am I doing this. I stopped completely when I started country-western dancing at the DC gay c-w bar. You cant be whirling around the floor and not have your equilibrium, too.

Dec 29 will mark 14 years of sobriety for me. I don't drink because life as a raging alcoholic is decidedly unpleasant.

For me, its a personal choice. I dont drink a drop. I leave it to those who can better handle it. I could never imagine life without alcohol. Now I cant imagine life with it.

    Life is good...

I am sorry but unfortunately I am one of the drinkers, don't drink that often but once and a while, like last time I drunk was like a month ago, but like right now I am drunk off my ass as I just graduated with my masters went out and drank some wine with dinner and now chilling out drinking water before I crash in bed lol. And I give you props, I was strick non-drinking for longest time but became okay with it over time but still only drink in special circumstances mostly.

    I don't drink.

As crazy as I can be at times, I'm afraid of what I'd be like under the influence.

As I got older it became less and less. It impacts my training in a terrible way and makes me feel and look older. I have sleep problems and it's bad for that as well.

For 10-15 years of my adult life I never would drink. I have a sibling that was an alcoholic growing up and I saw what kind of train wreck could happen to someone when they are messed up on alcohol. Everything is better now and they have been sober over 15 years.

The last few years I have been drinking alcohol more because the older I get the more anxious I get to even deal with people, especially going out and being scrutinized from a bar full of gay guys. At this point I sometimes wish I could keep alcohol at home because some days, such as today, I just wish I could drink myself to sleep in a stupor. Mind you, this is my attitude after midnight on a Friday night.

I don't. My life is very enjoyable without having alcohol.

+ My cousin and 9 of her friends we all killed by one drunk driver. Literally.

My average is around two or three beverages with alcohol per year.

It's not something I have a great craving for.

Never thought about it too much. I guess I don't drink much anymore because I realized I preferred to be around sober people. I couldn't make myself find silly behavior endearing

I am so sorry for you, I do drink but I don't even get behind the wheel unless I am 100% sober, if I have the slightest feeling that I am drunk I get someone else to drive me home or I have just sat in my car for 3 hrs till I felt I was completely sober. And people who are reckless with their drinking and driving are so wrong they are endangering not their life but eveyrone else on the road, I am so sorry for you *HUG*

I drink occasionally, I've gotten drunk a few times.. I don't see any problem with alcohol when you have it in moderation and it doesn't become a problem in your life.

I've seen what alcohol can do to people when it becomes a habit, it can be terrible and it's a massive struggle to overcome that habit, but that doesn't mean that alcohol is bad either...

Well done to those who have fought there problems and overcome them and managed to build a life that they can be proud of.

However, having said all that, I don't need alcohol for any occasion and my tastes are a little outside the price range of the average person, when the cheapest bottle of wine you'll drink starts in the 60 dollar range your sorta limited when going out heh.

Although spirits are always welcome but not the bad shitty stuff either.
