Regular colds are getting on my nerves

    Hi guys,

Last January, I began my venture into fitness, working with a personal trainer. In the eleven months that have passed, I've been really pleased with my progress. But one thing is starting to get on my nerves.

I've gotten sick a lot more often since the start. In the last eleven months, I've easily caught six or seven colds. And when I catch a cold, it never lasts less than two full weeks, sometimes three. I've tried keeping up my regimen (which is not nearly as intense as some people's here (1-2x weight training, 1x boxing, 1-2 running per week). I've tried stopping during the cold. Neither appeared to make a difference in how long it lasted or how "serious" it got.

In November I faced a 2-week cold followed by a 1-week sinus infection. Now, three weeks later, I've got another one!

Has anyone else faced this problem? I would be more worried if I hadn't had a complete physical at the start of 2008 show I'm in "perfect health", but I'm asking myself if I'm doing something wrong.

Thanks for any insight you have to share.

out of what ive read, cardio realeases a good amount of cortisol and that doesnt exactly boost the immune system... and it mught just be diet and sleep related

i dont get sick past a runny nose and maybe a sore throat for a day

but yeah, alot of sleep water and good whole raw food usually keeps u in tip top shape...

other than that, im no doctor

Give it time. Your body will adjust to the additional stress you've been putting it under as a result of the weight training.
You could look into homeopathic/herbal immune support supplements too.
