I see some guys at work wear gold chains/necklaces and it looks ok, but for the most part you dont see guys wearing gold chains anymore. I've looked at so many pics on this site and you dont see hardly any guys wearing any kind of neck jewelry.

My bf wears a choker sometimes and looks nice. Ive seen other younger guys wearing chokers also and looks decent, so are chains/necklaces out? Whats the 411 on the fashion for neckwear?

Why put anything around your neck that so resembles a noose or a leash? That includes neckties, crucifixes, bling bling, etc.

My sentiments exactly, McGay, unless, of course, one is actually wearing a leash.

Gold chains are very fashionable if you're a rapper.

Gold toilets are chic if you're a rich crapper.

Thomas Crapper did serve as the royal sanitary engineer for many members England's royalty, but contrary to popular myth, he was never knighted, and thus isn't entitled to use the term "Sir" before his name.

    How rich is that? =p

I don't wear any gold anymore. I think it can look cheesy now. I used to think it was HOT when a guy with a nice muscular chest with nice big pecs would wear a chain and it would kinda rest between the pecs... but that was back in the 90's. I do however, like the chokers that some guys wear of that shell stuff or those beads or whatever. That can look hot on some guys.

    OUT with Hip Hop...

Ok - an occasional tastefull single gold or silver choker or bracelet with the right clothes in the right setting maybe...

But the rest of it is so 80's-90's...

    Yikes! icon_surprised.gif

I have only one tri-gold necklace and one bracelet thingie of the same stuff. They're all I've got; they're all I've ever had for a good 20 years at least. Neither of them are particularly big, they're kinda small in fact.

What to do? WHAT TO DO???

I'm not a big fn of gold chains on guys, in fact, Not a big fan of yellow gold jewelery period. I think that guys should wear a nice watch and maybe a ring. And if they're wanting a little something around their next something small and understated on a leather rope around their neck. Anything more looks a little hustler-like to me. But that's just my opinion on it.

I think that people stopped wearing them when Mr. T gave his up a few years back.

If you can't do it with all the pizzazz of Flavor Flav, there is little point in trying.

Personally, I like 'em. Classic jock jewelery: single strand gold 'Figaro' knot chain. Can get kinda pricey, tho'

There's an increasing trend among younger guys, especially jocks, to adorn themselves. Most of them have at least one pierced ear, which a generation ago would have had them 'earmarked' as gay.

Necklaces/chokers are fine, if they're appropriate with what you're wearing.

I just think gold is a bit gauche, over the top. Sorry, not impressed by bling.

I wear a choke chain constantly, it doesnt choke cause I sealed the two rings together, been wearing it for a while now will be years before I take it off. I like body mods so anything that lightly grazes it works, unless of course, its hideously rapper bling bling.

I've worn a shell necklace on vacation. Never been a big necklace person, but I always wear the silver cuff I bought on vacation in Cozumel.

I'm like death dodge and wear a gold choker and never take it off. I wear it under my shirt and had a chest Xray for my physical and forgot to mention it and they got a nice picture!
