Why is it?

Why is it if an older (like me) guy complements a younger guy on his looks, he is immediately pegged as a troll?

I tell someone they look good, and I get a reaction like "you old flamer, how could you dare to tell me that?"

isn't it just possible to complement someone without being pegged as a slug with uber ulterior motives?

Of course it is...I guess it all depends on the maturity level of the guy you gave the compliment to. icon_wink.gif

Well now you get to see just how ugly he is! Masked by what you thought was good looks.

    indeed.

I'm younger, and of the two or three older guys to compliment me, I've been nothing but thankful (for the fact that they make me blush like a little girl)

good to know. I sometimes feel like a giant perv even though I have no evil intent when I even view someone elses profile.

Of those who've complimented me, I always write back saying thank you. Now I'll admit I have to have an, "Uhhhh, nuh-unh," moment when I've been asked out by someone who is clearly old enough to be my grandfather.

so long as they are respectful I reply to anyone who compliments me quite thankfully and appreciatively and polite. however no matter what age if they are vulgar or distasteful I usually reply no so courteously

They are probably just as shitty to guys their own age who don't fit their elitist view of who is good enough to address them. icon_lol.gif
BUT - if it is about age, I have this theory that young guys who are age phobic are actually the "creepers" in training...in other words if they don't grow or change with age they will eventually become the old farts for whom only "chicken" is worthwhile....heehee

There are a lot of cool younger guys on here that know how to take a compliment. Don't let a few nasty ones get you down.

I have complimented a number of guys on their looks and got positive replies. No negatives yet.
