When you hear someone say that to you, like "I'll hook you up with a buddy of mine" or "I'll set you up to get free cable" or whatever, do those phrases sorta turn you on? Like, maybe it's me and my Friday wine, but I just think those are hot buddy things to say. It's almost like having word sex.

"Hey man, I'll hook you up..."

    You?

No, I do not get turned on by people offering me favours.

    Ridiculous.

Ah shucks, now I feel really bad that hearing one dude offering another dude help, is a turn on. Perhaps someone will chime in and say yes, it does me too! Sorta like guys leaving a bar hearing guys say "I love you man!" is hot to me.

Then I guess I'll be the first.

Something about the phrase "I'll hook you up...", even if it's about getting help or a friend getting something for me.

Not really. It has been my experience that people throw "favors" they did back in your face eventually.

    Haha...little heat flash there...

I think it has something to do with the connotation of "hook-up." We can hook up a buddy if they need our help...and a hook-up itself? Need I say more?

I guess in a sense, I blend those two meanings together...so it's like...there's a bit of a sexual undertone there.

I think the reason it is a turn-on to me is it is so rare that one guy will help another guy out, especially a stranger. It's like saying I really like you, and I want to help.

Many years ago a friend offered to set me up with a guy, saying "he has off-beat good looks.."
I told him I didn't want a guy with off-beat good looks, I wanted a guy with 'beat off' good looks!

So, I'll ignore the "cable" comment and go from there...maybe it's MY Friday wine. But, I certainly get what you mean. It also depends on the hotness level of the guy saying it! (takes a big gulp of merlot.)

The hotness of the source of the talk + alcohol + vivid imagination + how horny you are = whatever happens! That's how bars make so much money! =)

Mix the right amount of things together and you get potential fireworks =)

Hey, I think it's hot even if I'm not drinking wine. How often do strangers help each other?

wrestlervic, it seems there are a great number of things that turn you on... icon_wink.gif
    LOL!
I'd prefer to pay for my own bills and find my own dates.
I only get turned on by things that aren't necessities, It's "on like Donkey Kong" when there's flowers, new shoes, a weekend away or car service involved.

I would probably say, that a picture where you are picking your nose, as old as you are, it not a turn-on. icon_wink.gif

When guys talk like that to me, I'm suspicious that they want something. To me, it sounds a little sleazy and I might smack him if he persisted.

If a guy wants to offer or share something with me, like an invitation, or his driver or whatever, its because he's being nice or interested in me.He wouldn't say it that way.

Ah, now I see. That's cause you are from a major city, NY, NY. You may expect it's a gay guy hitting on you. In the south or rural areas, it takes on a different meaning.
