So I am in Connecticut right now for winter break with my family and I have noticed something in the guys here (at least online)

Within the first few days of me being here, a bunch of guys want to meet me, young (around 20) and older (up to 44)

They im me and just seem more interested and I am even talkin to a guy that seems really cool and sweet. I never got this in Phoenix. I usually meet guys in phx and it never gets past one date. Here in CT when I started meeting guys b4 I went out to az for school, I saw guys more than 2x and even got pretty serious with one guy, then I went to AZ icon_sad.gif

So does it matter where the guys are? Is there really differences in the men based on regions? Or are all gays the same everywhere lol

It's funny cuz Phoenix has way more guys hmmm idk

Well I think it does. In the town where I live no one is interested in me. In Baton Rouge and New Orleans, though, lots of guys are interested ( it's not always easy to get away because of work and I'm also in school) The guys who come through from TX are great and when I lived in NY I never had any problems. For some reason (really bad ageism here - the 20, 30 , 40 and 50 year olds all only want 20 year olds) for some reason I can't get arrested - it used to bother me - I can't care anymore. I get away whenever I can and I concentrate on my training and school work.

Hmmm...interesting observation Jnmuscle33. I've traveled a lot and haven't really noticed that, except for in NYC where people more or less expect you to go through an application process for the "privilege" of sitting across from their big heads during coffee ;)

But one could imagine that each area has it's own distinct character and set of behaviors that sets it apart from others. But then, this is coming from a guy who's rather oblivious. Unless someone sits in my lap and says "lets go on a date," I tend not to notice whether someone is interested or not. Go figure.

So yeah, maybe guys are very different, depending on where you are.

    You're forgetting the novelty factor.
    Novelty lends enchantment.
But once they get used to your presence it will be more or less the same as it was where you came from.

I experienced the same thing during the 9 years I lived in Phoenix. I thought that was how gay guys were. Then I moved to Tulsa and was pleasantly surprised.

It's all about market niche and demographic and that novelty factor TexDef07 mentioned. Before I moved from eastern Washington, I attracted a fair amount of interest for being of mixed race in a land of Aberzombies. Meanwhile, my bf was just another cute skinny white guy. Here in Phoenix, he gets all the attention when we go out, and I'm just another short brown guy...dime a dozen. *shrugs*

I don't know how to answer that because it's just as bad in Vegas per say...

It's very transient here, on top of a 24hrs city, and variances of odd working hours if you're in the hospitality/casino industry.

Vegas is a small gays world - being everyone knows everyone's business. So I would say we're almost in the same shoes as you.

In the summer months I can honestly say I got so much interest when I went out I didn't know how to handle it. I think part of that is because I'm not a "regular" and previously I have not gone out much before that.....I guess it would be called "fresh meat".

However, the great majority of men around here seem to only be interested in just having sex, or just casually dating. Perhaps guys my age are either in a relationship by now, or they are just looking for sex.....I dunno.

Thus the prison term "Fresh Meat!"
