I actually think the idea has a humorous side to it, but it is more of an adult twisted sense of humor. I don't think this is something that should be on display for kids to see.

I am really not clear on the homeowners message though. He seems to think that Jesus should be the central theme of the holiday, but is this the way a christian would really want Jesus depicted: a vindictive, murderer with a blatant disregard for life?

This guy is either too slow to realize the negative impact of his statement or another example of the American religious extremist spreading Christmas joy to other religious terrorist.

    Praise Jesus.... or else!

I might just be one of the most vehement anti-Christians I know... but come on. Even I find this offensive. Anyone who knows anything about Jesus knows that he would never kill.

The guy who staged this is a jackass. He's capable of vindication, but will never understand the essence of his own proclaimed faith.

It's realistic enough that it could cause an accident, distracting someone who is driving by the house.

But Jesus can resurrect him right?

Also, maybe Jesus does not believe in Santa ..

Then again, what happens when you re-arrange the letters in s-a-n-t-a (move the 'n' to the end) ... s-a-t-a-n ... icon_eek.gif maybe Jesus was fulfilling prophecy to defeat Satan icon_redface.gif

    just a thought

Well, I see the humor and I got a chuckle. I just think it's sad that stupid people like this get to vote. And honestly, I believe that Jesus lived. I just don't understand why we have to pretend he's God.

there is a bit of a dichotomy here imo

some christians believe in and argue vociferously for the individual's right to bear arms and all that this entails.

so why is this so upsetting?

I think it's funny. Silly neighbors. Just don't look at it. I don't understand why some people think they have a right to not be offended that cancels out the first amendment.

I don't think this being deemed inappropriate for kids is a very good excuse. Look at all the crap online and on TV. There are thousands of images, shows and ads that children are subjected to on a daily basis that go much farther than this display. Kids are completely desensitized these days and so are most people for that matter... And I know some people might say, 'Well you can make sure kids don't watch certain programs' etc.. And to that I say, Ummm not really; my parents tried that w/ me and I always found a way to watch that rated R movie or whatever it was.
Oh well, thats the way I see it anyway.
I like that its at least forcing people to think about the commercialization of the holiday.

I thought Michael Jackson was resurrected and had worked out, but hoped to keep the kiddies to himself.

I'm sorry, I really laughed when I saw the picture and totally got it that it was a statement on the commercialization of xmas.

But I also thought sticking it on a front lawn was a dumb idea. An art gallery wouldn've been better, but some people are creative on the fly and don't mind stirring up a little controversy.
