I'm not sure about you folks, but topics like "OMG, Britney's Hair" and "What Flavor of Condoms Do You Like?" or my favorite, "Should I Get a Perm?" seem out of place on a website devoted to fitness for men who consider themselves to be (for the most part) "jocks", or are on this site for fitness reasons.

Post your favorite, most absurd, most stupid forum topic that you can remember (or if you just want to entertain us all, make one up). I have to say preemptively that you won't hurt my feelings if you include the title of this topic.. icon_twisted.gif

How can I think about love when the bacon is burning and the house is an absolute mess and I'm trying to get my boyfriend off to work and I'm going to miss my bus? icon_wink.gif

it'll depend on who you ask, there are those who would like this forum to become there philosophical play ground where they get to try and being all serious and irritating to everyone, constantly trying to call out others downfalls while neglecting there own.

Others want this place to be carefree fun where they come to escape the world and it's problems.

While others would LOVE this to be a place of sex..

And still others want something else..

What threads should never have seen the light of day?

None, this forum for all it's good and bad is a diverse eclectic mix of differing people with differing philosophical and religious ideas and thoughts, this forum really is a hodge podge of difference and while sometimes it is a little rough or a little smooth or a little shallow or a little deep, it is a place where so many differences and ideas come into play and doesn't completely explode although it gets close it seems to self monitor and keep it's self from self annihilation

Yeah, cause yer such a big macho guy: no need to talk about Britney's hair, perms, drag, Heidi Montag, CATS, how cute twinks can be, how cool GLEE is, how cool cookies are when we should all be grunting and talking about sports.

I could smoke you in any sport, out flex you, and out lift you in the gym, but I like everything you listed. I'm glad this site is about LIFE and how fitness can fit into it, but fitness is not life, especially to a buncha queens. You gotta have time for boys, hair, and Michelle Obama's taste in clothes.

So step out of your masculine closet because it's just another closet and stop acting like being a jock is going to erase the giddiness you feel when I say, "JAZZ HANDS!"

How about any topic that is self indulging, validating like "OMG am I hawt?" or the nasty topics like what role are you in bed idk I mean not to grip but I miss the old RJ when the forum topics where about gay life and fitness not treated some twinkie airhead's facebook. But this is how I feel not pushing it on anybody I just feel we only care about shallow empty self promoting topics now that are not ever a joke but most people really are serious on getting attention in any way therefor I see RJ is heading down the same street MTV hasicon_sad.gif

BTW I miss the old clean chat room but nobody goes in it anymore the "adult room" is looking more and more like bigmuscle's chatroom... thats not a good thing if you are just trying to chat with some friends or make new ones with creepers clogging up the roomicon_neutral.gif

Hey Guilty, I think I may have been unclear in presenting myself.. I certainly wouldn't say that I'm Mr. Uber Macho, or that I can bench 800 pounds. So you can outflex me, or outplay me in any sport (I doubt hockey), but anyway, I really don't care..

And if there's anything in this world that I despise, it is false representations of masculinity - I would rather hang out with a sparkle-farting queen than someone like that.. If you read my profile - you'll see exactly what I mean. And if you met me in person, you definitely wouldn't think I was that kind of person.

What I should have named this topic was "Forum Topics That Make You Say WTF?" because that's more what I really meant. The idea of "Topics That Should Never Appear" came from "Well, if this is strictly a website for fitness.. I'd never expect to see topics like this.." that's all..

    I agree with Ricky there....

When I signed up for RJ almost two years ago, I was relieved to find there was a "gay" website NOT dedicated to hooking up, let alone a "gay fitness" website!!
I was excited. There was finally a place where I had access to real workout tips through the forums, access to daily routines (which I love), AND (best of all) a chat room where you could actually talk to guys like me.

Ever since the appearance of the "adult room", however, It seems like this website is going down the drain. Its losing its edge as being a "different" site. Its starting to turn into a webcam hookup site, just like every other "gay" site out there....

When RJ started the "paid membership" campaign, I was eager to signup. I felt that paying a few bucks a month was a small price to pay to keep the website up, help with overall improvements, and continue to have access to quality fitness information.

And the crazy topics!! Don't even get me started!! "Hello I am new here!!! Is there any gay daddy lovers on here?????".... Are you serious? Wow.... And that is just a recent post!

Maybe there are only a few of us who wish the OLD RJ would be the standard, without the naked chats and "gay daddy lover" posts.... but I feel there are PLENTY of other sites that offer that....

I don't mind the variety and wackiness of some topics. It keeps things interesting. I know most of us roll our eyes every time someone posts a "I''m hot, but I can't find a guy" type of thread. But the responses that accompany such threads are often entertaining. icon_lol.gif

This is true yet like Tom Green is now getting old and tiresome. I don't think Nick is trying to come off as MR Manly O' MAN yet is just stating how the site has change not entirely for the better like more airhead topics and status hunger. I'm sure we all can agree we do miss some of the good topics about gay life, good workout routines, diet plans along with the encouragement and inspiration to better one self they came with.

I interpreted the thread by what you wrote. Sorry, I can't look into your mind. My post is laced with sarcasm and humor, but you did hit a raw nerve. This site is GAY FITNESS HEALTH & LIFE. That means people will talk about more than just fitness because LIFE got tossed in there. The forums have a fitness section, so just stay there if you don't like it. This is all I was saying because you did come off anti gay and pro JOCK (masculine). I threw it back at you and of course, attitude and damage control. Yeah, pretty sure I could beat ya at ANYTHING. Especially hockey, because fights are commonplace and I know you can't best me there, small fry.icon_lol.gif

This one. If you don't like a forum topic ignore it. If others respond it is because they find some interest in it.

You do know, lil, that John McCain had his shoulders dislocated at the Hanoi Hilton when he was prisoner during the Vietnam war and cant raise his arms much higher than that. Those who do might find this use of this pic rather tasteless.

I mean, I can't but you didn't know that. As far as royally kicking your ass....I will just quit while I'm ahead and not touch that anymore.

And skip the ones you don't find worthy of reading. You know, sort the wheat from the chaff. Personally at times the chaff seems pretty funny.

Well, this site is entirely what you make of it. If some of you want to see the site improve, then participate more. You can't expect a few individuals to do all the work of keeping the standards up around here.

I know most/all of the "original" RJ members stopped posting in the forums because they found better things to do. But that doesn't mean it's the end of the world. If you want to discuss a certain topic, then create a thread. Stop pining for the "good ole days". Things will never go back to the way they used to be.

Also, remember that the forums are divided into sub-forums. If you're on RJ strictly for fitness/nutrition/sports, there are sub-forums that strictly deal with fitness/nutrition/sports. You can ignore everything else.
