Still a sin, personal choice, against gay marriage...

Yea there is some positive rhetoric in there, but 'embrace' is a bit too strong a word don't you think?

"Patriarch Kirill says gays and lesbians must not be persecuted or discriminated against in any way, though the church still opposes same-sex marriages."

lol sounds like the paradoxical result of our Senate enquiry, its interesting the way they selectively define discrimination so they can keep on doing it.

    homosexuality a sin,

same-sex marriage a sin .. sorry but that is a fail.

Thanks for not killing us, but the notion that homosexual desires are sinful and abhorrent is .. well frankly killing us -- especially gay young people who suffer 8x the suicide rate as others and self-esteem issues throughout life.

You mean to say, hell they always existed, exist now, and will continue to do so?

I guess some Christians believe homosexual is a sin and a choice. Yes some gay people can be straight as a choice, but they can't change their sexual identity. Now, who is the judge saying Gay is a sin? They are not God. My father respect me being gay and he is non-religious Palestinian Orthodox Christian from Bethlehem. My mom on other hand is very strict Scottish-irish Catholic. She think being gay is dirty (get aids) and sins.

    You should read this book:

The conversation concerning the full inclusion of gays and lesbians in the Orthodox Church has not started in the same way it has in the Roman, Anglican, and Protestant churches. While many localized Orthodox jurisdictions teach that practicing homosexuality is a sin, this teaching has not been ecumenically affirmed within the Orthodox Church. In some places, partnered homosexuals are excommunicated, in others the local Orthodox priests have maintained a pretty effective "don’t-ask-don’t-tell" policy with regard to such communicants– or sometimes are even affirming of faithful, monogamous, gay couples.

Just as people’s hearts and minds are often changed when a child or close friend comes out, so too the testimony and stories of faithful gay and lesbian Orthodox Christians could transform the atmosphere of the Church. Homosexuality in the Orthodox Church will be an anthology of witness by Eastern Orthodox Christians concerning the inclusion of faithful gay and lesbian believers. - gayorthodox.com

Being a slut may be a sin, masquerading as a Christan, is a sin too. Tto love one another, is not a sin, to love is not eithe. ,Homosexuality is no sin, and I know God loves us too; albeit we may piss him off sometimes. But many more christians make him hang his head in shame for all the wrong they do in his name.
