Has anyone here used this software? Does it require calibration for different light levels of skin reflectance? Does anyone here know what technology it uses to acquire & track a human face? Does that technology favor lighter faces as an unavoidable consequence of the current state-of-the-art methods employed, or was this a deliberate choice by HP?

I'd like to hear more before I would conclude that the software is intentionally racist.

I really don't think that it was intentional.

haha...my friend was just telling me about a photo that they were trying to take and it kept asking if someone blinked for the same reason...I realize that this is old but it is funny...are you trying to tell me that they did not have any asians testing out these products....ummmm....products that are most likely made in China.

One big plus to not having the latest technology, my digital camera doesn't do that, and film may be nostalgic, but it does the job very well, and has for a very long time. I still like the character of film too.

It's just refusing to play with a black guy. Even if the black guy is accompanied by a white lady. No sympathizers! LOL

Interesting NSFW trick with Google Images:

    1. Go to images.google.com

    2. Turn off Safe Search. (Like I said, NSFW.)

    3. Search for "European".

    4. Search for "American".

    5. Search for "African".

    6. Now that we've established that pattern, search for "Asian".

    Yeah, no racism there.

Are you kidding me? lol. If this is really true, this is an advantage to darker skinned folk. What the hell? Why is any dark brown or black skinned person complaining about this? I don't get it. Someone please explain it to me. Racism is not every where under every rock but it is definitely some places under some slimy rocks.

I agree. It is not deliberate....I think that they just rushed these technologies out before they were really ready.

    These pics above....
Asians and the small eyes =.="
Mostly in Japanese , Korean... they have small eyes...
Chinese , Vietnamese , Cambodian .... almost have the big eyes ...
I was told that people always think about the small eyes when they're asked about Asiansicon_razz.gif

After being in a few Asian countries for awhile, the first thing I think of when I'm reminded of my experiences is this...

Omg, I heard it every place we went. icon_eek.gif
