Hey guys! I decided to completely redo my Zune mp3 player. I deleted everything and started from scratch. I am looking for some new albums/song/artists to add to my player.
Just so you get a feel of what kind of music I enjoy listening to, here's a short list of things that are currently on my Zune:

    -Gary Numan
    -David Bowie
    -Godspeed You Black Emperor
    -Janet Jackson
    -Johnny Cash
    -Madonna
    -Marilyn Manson
    -Cover Girls
    -Placebo
    -Cece Peniston
    -The Prodigy
    -Rammstein

There's a lot more but I guess my taste is more of moody electronic/metal sounding material. I'm very open and am willing to give any artist (from the past or present) a go. I am especially interested in albums that are really dark and are awesome! lol

The Zune actually exists? I thought they were a myth, like unicorns or Bigfoot.

Your collection so far is pretty eclectic. Johnny Cash and Madonna in the same playlist could be fun.

I just downloaded Bon Iver's EP Blood Bank, 4 songs, all good. That's my recommendation.

I'm a bit crazy when it comes to music. I feel like I need to have a wide variety of music or it just feels too simple. That's the main reason I completely restarted my Zune. As crazy a selection I have, I rarely skip from one artist to another within a week. I usually need to listen to a single album for at least 10 days, make sure I get a good visual for each song. Once I complete my process I go to the next album by that artist. It sounds crazy, I know. icon_biggrin.gif I usually keep the process going until I hit a really shitty album by the artist or one that bores me. This is how my current Zune is looking:
    -Adam Lambert
    -Beyonce
    -Britney Spears
    -CeCe Peniston
    -Charlie Clouser
    -Cover Girls
    -David Bowie
    -Debbie Deb
-Fergie (just "Glamorous", the only song I like by her lol)
    -The Gap Band
    -Gary Numan
    -Godspeed You! Black Emperor
    -Janet Jackson
    -Johnny Cash
    -Kelly Clarkson
    -Ke$ha (only "Tik Tok")
    -La Roux
    -Lady Gaga
    -Leighton Meester
    -Linkin Park
    -Madonna
    -Marilyn Manson
    -Maroon 5
    -Michael Bolton
    -Michel Rubini
    -Mina's Bedroom
    -Natalia Kills
    -Pharoah Monch
    -Philip Glass
    -Placebo
    -The Prodigy
    -Rammstein
    -Rihanna
    -Rob Zombie/White Zombie
    -Shannon
    -Speed Pilot
    -Susan Boyle
    -Timbaland
    -Tyler Bates

And I'm adding more at the moment icon_smile.gif

oh and im checkin that EP right now

Check my profile and click on the Last.fm link, and click on the Library link.

Or listen to the Slacker Radio widget embedded on my profile. I have a pretty broad taste in music also.

I see some freestyle on that list...thats great.

Love Zombie, saw him in concert a few weeks ago

    I would suggest

Eurythmics....maybe some of their lesser known material. Their first cd Sweet Dreams or the dark Savage especially the song I Love to Listen to Beethoven.

How about any of Garbage's 4 cds. My fave Push It

Ladytron "Ghosts" and they have some great other stuff too

    Try the Yeah Yeah Yeahs

Bravery has a new cd with some great new songs, more new wavey like their first cd than their last. Heres my fave "Hatefuck"

Kelli Ali with the Sneaker Pimps

    Kelli Ali solo

Poe who had some great songs in the 90s

PJ Harvey has some incredible stuff

I guess I'm just confused about the whole Zune thing. I always feel Microsoft is, at best, trying to play catch up by ripping off Apple, among other companies. They also come up with "new" and "exciting" features that no one wants, or that doesn't work right. I am still a bit of a fan of Bill Gates, especially his altruistic endeavors.

To the OP, you have an interesting range of music there, you check out a few of my videos on my profile and see if any of the music interests you. I know there are a lot of new groups out there, and I am aware of their music and I might have downloaded some newer stuff, but what I have on my profile is some music that really speaks to me and possibly was passed over for the most part over the last few years.

    I've a Zune too!
The new HD one, its awesome.

Anyways, I strongly suggest removing RAMMSTEIN
I dislike them, they aren't good.

I would suggest Wir Sind Helden and Das Fattes Brot, at least, i think thats how you spell them.

Also, maybe some Air, a little Tech N9ne, and some Outkast

    want something fun and eclectic?
go to IMDB, and download the songs from Zombieland. It's a fun mix of a lot of lesser known stuff.

    Currently my favorite playlist!

LOL. The Zune is the music player that everyone loves to hate. I thought the 1st generation Zune was a bit of turd. It did have some neat features that the ipod classic didn't have. Like an FM tuner, wifi, song tagging, and wireless song purchase. But the thing was big ugly. It was basically an old rebranded Toshiba MP3 player. 2nd generation Zune was much better but still not quite there.

The Zune HD is a winner in my opinion. Gorgeous touch screen display. The user interface is really nice and modern. And the player itself is really sleek. My only gripes are, no physical volume buttons and no SDK kit for app development. The Tegra processor on the Zune has a lot of potential for some useful gaming and business apps.

Also, it's a shame that MS doesn't release a Mac version of the Zune software. I know there are some Mac people that would like a Zune but don't want to bother with dual booting into Windows or running Parallels.

Sex Dwarf is a sick song....brilliant stuff by the underrated Marc Almond and Soft Cell, in fact their first cd is pretty groundbreaking.

@RuJock: Thanks for the numerous artists and songs, I'm adding a bunch of Eurthymics tracks right now. The rest will soon follow. icon_biggrin.gif

@me35mtl: I love the Cover Girls! xD

@LGWC: I like Air and Tech N9ne but Outkast...ehhh lol. And leave my love for Rammstein alone! XD

@briarhawk: I just saw that film on Xmas eve! I love it! I will be adding songs (maybe the soundtrack?).

@double: I heart Softcell, Led Zeppelin, and Queen too! I actually added some Queen last night. icon_smile.gif

Thank you guys so much for your input! Please...don't stop! Keep the suggestions coming!
