    Hi Guys

First time posting here and looking for some advice. To start off I'm a 6'2 165 lb college student. I have a habit of keeping up with my exersice routine for a few months then getting derailed for the same amount of time. I usually do cardio and have tried to lift weights, but I really don't know what I'm doing. I feel relatively healthy but this start stop thing has not led to any physical improvements.

I was wanting advice for a few things. The two areas I would like to work on is the freshmen 15 forming up on my mid section, and trying to get some muscle definition . I don't know if I need to finish one goal before I start the other or if both can worked on simultaneously.

    Any help is greatly appreciated.

Do both. It's a myth that you have to lose fat before attempting to gain muscle mass. If you do both at the same time and eat the right foods, you will reach your goal much faster.

Join a gym. Hire a trainer to teach you how to perform the exercises correctly. Do some research on your own about nutrition and exercise. After you've gained some knowledge and experience, you can drop the trainer and go on your own. Or you can continue to use a trainer if you feel that it's necessary.

Thanks for the advice, I went to my school gym today and got an appointment with a wellness instructor.

Clean up your diet, get consistent, lift, and eat. It'll turn out o.k.
