ok - well it has a new name I see, but I can't pronounce it yet or remember how to spell it. Who decides how to recognize or validate the name of something like this? Don't geologists or mapmakers have anything to say about it? Is it like the definition of a planet, where a group of informed people get together and discuss it?
I get that "Angel" seems ethnocentric, and we certainly refer to the USA as "America", as if Central or South America didn't exist, but sure, I'll call it whatever..............eh.....is this really like Jeopardy ? Am I supposed to ask another question now?

If it's Jeopardy the contestant presents the question, not the host.

It's not up to a non-English linguistic group to dictate the English names of things! Just ranting a bit here, but I notice this sort of hostility around the world by various groups, countries, etc, against the English language mostly. Give me Bombay, Brunswick and Turin over Mumbai, Braunschweig and Torino any day!

    It's the Angel Falls!

Considering the location in question is within the boundaries of another country, they have every right to call it what ever they want, you should respect there wishes, you might not agree with them, but, that is unimportant.

Hell, even Australia (an English speaking country) has changed names of important natural monuments such as Uluru was changed from Ayers Rock (for a while was dual named) and was done so by request of the aboriginal community.. Should we disregard there request because umm.. it's not an english name?

Why do you always put huge gaps between your text and your links? And why do you often type double-spaced? icon_twisted.gif

It's kind of pointless to have Jeopardy on the internet seeing as how you could just look up the answer... it's not that hard.
