So there you are opening gifts and you pull out a gift out of a box and
its something that doesn't make any sense or rather, you can tell the buyer was either clueless, indifferent or was buying for them, not for you.
Anybody get any gifts that will either be returned (quickly) or just trashed?
I don't mean wrong sizes, etc....

I was very lucky, always get way too much stuff and always very polite and
thankful for what I get, its the thought that counts! It was awesome this year.

But I couldn't help but laugh..... my female friend who I've known since 2nd grade got me "Stetson" cologne again. I even talked about it in a previous thread here on RJ. I have brought it up in a subtle way that Steton, well...
isn't it. She acknowledges it and we're ok for a year or two... then here it is again.

I got a lot of gift cards and cash. Ha - I don't trust anyone to dress me... and they know that. I love a thoughtful note in a card, and prefer that to a friend trying to show how much they "know me" by picking the most appropriate gift.
Most of them "know me" well enough to know that I have no specific style and prefer to choose something I really want. icon_razz.gif

No gifts this year. None given (no one really to give them to) and of course, none received.

This is the first year in a long while where I have no complaints. Yeah for observant families knowing what you want!

It was a good year gift wise. Friends and family know me well. I even got a one-year subscription for Jeppesen digital charts for the PC12NG.

    I got sheets and a pillow case . . . I thought it was ironic because I don't have a bed.

I'm down at my partner's brother's house for Christmas. We went to dinner with his wife's family and did a Secret Santa Swap. I ended up with one of those big coupon books, but it's for the Northern Philadelphia area and we don't live here. Lucky for me, my sister in law's mom swapped with me and I got a year's subscription to the magazine of my choice.

Was it like Cheesesteak coupons or something?

I appreciate whatever I get. I've never gotten extravagances so I'm not spoiled as to liking something someone took the time and effort to wrap and give me.

My parents bought me the most awful gift a person can get their 19 year-old son for Christmas, a Playboy thong. As soon as I unwrapped the gift and saw what it was my jaw just dropped....Ughhhh, what should I do?

    The pink one

My mom got me a pretty crappy scarf, made out of super thin fleece.

It wasn't even keeping my neck warm in her house.

Needless to say I'll be replacing it soon.

I have never told anyone (including my parents) what I really want. Thus, I never get things that I need or could atually use.

I am happy getting anything at all.

I don't think I have ever received a gift that wasn't appreciated. I am always very appreciative of any one that takes the time enough to think of me, and to give me a gift no matter what it is. icon_smile.gif

    Ice Age 2: The Meltdown
    a can of mixed nuts.

Well aren't you all filled with the Christmas sprit!! At least you have people to share the holidays with. I don't. My gift to myself was renting a couple videos at Blockbuster. I don't think you complainers realize how lucky you are to not spend the holidays alone.

Of course, I'm still recovering from an Achilles rupture, but I can't wait to play ball in them when I'm healthy.
