Actually, I really enjoy New Year's and my birthday. Lately, they have been spent by myself but it is still a celebration.

I permit myself to sit back and take a breather to reflect on the successes and failures of the past. Life is hard work sometimes and it is good to move forward refreshed with hope.

I do not enjoy X-mas and really am glad that the torture is over finally for another year....until it starts again in August of 2010.....My personal favorite holiday is Independence Day! Mid Summer...powerful SUNSHINE and warm weather, a holiday not based on a "mass shopping spree" of a "food festival", but a pure holiday based on our verifiable history, not a myth.... and not celebrating nor commemorating death....icon_rolleyes.gif

I am not much for holidays - BUT - I'm spending New Years in New Orleans with my new friend (BF? icon_smile.gif ) and we found an apartment to rent for 2 days (usually only available by the week & no hotel rooms at his late date) & we got a reservation at a great restaurant ( also bizarre ) & I'm pretty excited. The city's going to be packed, lots of Gays staying over from the Lady GaGa concert .....AND...I've been training like a maniac ( a really really single, lonely one) so I can wear all my tight, age inappropriate clothes icon_lol.gif when we go out and make an ass out of myself drooling over him in public hehe

Mitch, I believe GQjock has received something appropriate for your New Orleans holiday. he wasn't sure when to wear it anyway.

Down here in Oz, it's the beginning of many long weekends ahead, Australia day, and so on.Four day weekend for Easter. I think this funny, since we are not really a religus nation, we only have religion here.
