I've always only wanted just a few things out of life: A nice place to live, enough to eat, my own business so I could be my own boss and someone to share it all with. So far 3 out of 4 ain't bad. icon_wink.gif

A job I like. (had one of these before, it's great)

After that I don't know, happiness comes much from within.

It does not take much to make me happy. I laugh a lot and enjoy the company of those that have enriched my life good or bad. It's all a lesson anyway!

*I* make me happy... I wake up, I breathe, I live... "I'm happy."
Everything else is either icing or an obstacle.

For me, money represents security, and represents happiness.
I'm not talking about wealth, just having a steady supply that is enough to pay the bills, with a little left over.
    Not having enough, induces panic.
So, I strongly disagree with the OP suggestion that money is something you shouldn't worry about. In fact, it makes no sense at all, since you need money for almost everything, unless you're an inhabitant of the Amazon rain forest.

It doesn't take much. In fact being easily contented is innate in me. 3 months every year in Hawai'i would be nice; but I can't have me dogs with me, so I'll leave that.

I have a great career, a nice home and car. What would ultimately make me happy? To have a great dude to share it with. That quiet kind of love...the kind that makes you feel secure and valuable and safe.

    1. A good exercise program has to be at the top of my list. I finished my long distance run and I feel great!

I have many things. I’ve learned this year that they anchor me down to one place and do not fulfill me.

I want to travel and use my new camera.
I want a man to love me, and not lie to me.
I want inspiration to create again

I kind of agree with Webster and I kind of agree with Mystic. While a sole focus on money will lead to nothing but things at best and madness at worst, money does NOT mean happiness. However, the more money you have, the greater freedom you might have. That freedom can lead to doing things that can give an instant gratification or a long lasting joy. Flash in the pan happiness or bliss. Money is necessary to live, but it is not the be all-end all to happiness.

As for Mystic's topic question, for me at the current stage in my life, a great, small circle of friends (nods, thinks of the Broken Hearts Club friends) that I can depend on and who can depend on me.

The happiness we hear about in the lives of RJers makes us happy too.
    Sappy, but true.

Whenever we can make a difference for someone else, here or elsewhere, that makes us happy.

    C'mon, you asked.
