IMO, one of the more versatile, silky-voiced singers out there.

And she brings those characters and more together in this:

Oh yes, I love her voice.

When I die, if a memorial service is held, I want them to play 'Into the West'.

Gosh thats old in gay years. I ponder is it as old in lesbian years? Maybe not, since they are the opisit to many gay men.

Annie is one of a stellar handful that I yearn to see perform live.

I hope she doesn't dare retire.

I saw her perform live about two years ago, and it was one of the best musical performances I've ever seen. The power, range, and variety of her voice creates true emotion. Her version of "Here Comes the Rain Again" - just Annie and the grand piano - sent shivers down my spine. I also admire her for her long term commitment toward reducing AIDS in Africa. Annie took up this cause before it was fashionable and is never preachy.

Annie was my diva growing up

This is her at her most over the top and best from the Savage cd, which I thought was just okay back when it was out but it may actually be her best cd.

Currently I think her music has lost its edge, she needs to get back to more dark and sinister stuff. I think the lyrics are solid with her new music but the background music is too soft.

and from We Too Are One, the haunting Dont Ask Me Why, one of her most underrated songs

Rujock, it's good to see another AL aficionado here. I thought her "Diva" album exemplified her strong music and vocal talents quite well as a new single artist and not as part of Eurythmics. I also have been disappointed in her recent attempts with a full album, and although she deserves a lot of grammys, I am still baffled that she won it for Medusa, which of course was her "cover" album. She deserved the Oscar for Into The West....no doubt about it.

One of my all time favorite albums by the Eurythmics is the Peace album. They really had something to say and it shined through. I'm not sure if she needs to go dark, her last album was dark and morose, without a great deal of passion.
