100 workers today were hired at $8/hour to melt ice at Lambeay Field today in preparation for tomorrow's Packer game.
Creating jobs was one good benefit from our ice storm. And the reports that came back were that they all had a blast. lol
Keenan Landry, 16, of Denmark, was one of the few workers who planned to attend Sunday’s game.
He said he woke up at 5 a.m. and liked the job because it’s fun.
“I’m getting paid more here than at my actual job.”
David Gesicki, 15, came all the way from Phoenix, Ariz. He was in town for the holidays, visiting grandparents from Appleton.
“I just wanted to do it,” he said with a smile as he surveyed the stadium. “I like the Packers.”
I went and helped shovel snow last year. I have to admit with all the Packer spirit around, it was fun.
