What do you do with those wasted days?

Ya know, the ones where you get up at some hour past (sometimes waaay past) noon and realize that half the day's slipped away. Or the ones where it's cloudy and dark and just ugly? Or the ones where it's too cold outside or too rainy or what have you? How do you find a way to become productive? (This is, of course, assuming that y'all know the kinds of days that I'm talking about.)

Here are a couple things I do to make use of the day. I might start or continue a book that I was reading, or cook something unusual. The other day my dad suggested that a good way to not let the rest of the day go to waste would be to nap the rest of the day away and then go out to see a movie.

What are some other creative ideas or suggestions you have?

    You're not a machine.

You will have days like that from time to time..... just as long as they don't seem to be every day you're good.

Let your mind, body, and soul rest, sleep is not the only recuperation you get.

    :-)

Relax, read a book, watch a movie. Let it flow at its own pace.

Uggh, I totally know about those days. Ideally, you'd avoid the trap of staying up late, cause you woke up late (thus messing up the following day as well).

You could just go back to sleep, save up some energy and wake up bright and early the following day, or focus on tasks that you've been putting off for a while. I find I work much better on tasks I dislike when I'm tired.

Just don't let your body clock get thrown off course.

On the days when the sun is shinning and I've woken up sometime past noon, I go jogging. love running on the street and if it's possible I'll try to meet a friend, brother or sister for a late lunch and a few beers. Rain, overcast and snowy days leave me at a disadvantage as I tend to get horny especially when it rains and those days require a little more creativity.

Funny that you mentioned that!! I also happen to get very horny and romantic more so on rainy then just cloudy days! I usually read a good book on a rainy or very cold day snuggled up with my favorite blanket!!

I woke up at 2:00PM today. It's especially painful in winter - the sun set just 3 hours after I woke!

I did have to work at 4:00PM, so I had little time to get anything done. I posted in a few random threads on RJ, touched up some Photoshop art I was working on, showered, and went off to work!

Sleeping in is SOoooooo frustrating to me. The first thing I do is go to the gym on these days - too much sleep makes me more tired, I need the exercise to wake myself up.

Cool guys. Another idea that I've had but never carried out is to build something. Find some plans for something online like a birdhouse or a composter or something, go to Lowes and get some lumber, and then just build. There'd be a great deal of personal satisfaction that'd come out of doing so. It could be an ongoing 'wasted day' project.

Grrr....I hate these days. I stay up way too late all the time and either skip sleep or sleep in. So instead of waking up at 10 in the morning, I get up at 2 in the afternoon, at that point the day if half over. I blame the internet and RJ, hehe.

I've also found that on days when I sleep too much (more than 8 hours), I end up being more sleepy that if I skimp on sleep.

I'm productive no matter the day. I always have lots to do both outdoors and indoors. I wish I had the ability to have a lazy day.

I live in the suburb of Seattle, so it's always dark, cloudy, and raining... Sipping a good cup of coffee at a local coffee shop usually does me good. icon_smile.gif

I only find that I've 'wasted' a day when I've built up the notion that I MUST be out and about to call the day productive. I can't count the times I've been running about town all day and by the time I get home I still don't feel like I accomplished anything. There are so many ways to be active and productive in your own house. Having a break from school and work allowed me to catch up on movies I recorded back in May, balance my financial accounts, clean up the house, rekindle my home exercise routine, and start on some shelved projects. Even today I woke up past 1pm and dove back into the book I was reading last night. Having days that you can waste is quite freeing.

    There's always tomorrow.
And, if there isn't, well, you'll never know about it.

Well, I'll practice piano for a little while.

I'll clean the apartment so I don't have to do it on the usual day.

I live downtown, so I might just go to that museum exhibit I've been meaning to catch for 2 months.

I'll call a friend and either chat away the next hour while cooking or have them come over and eat.
