I've heard drugs are pretty prevalent in the gay community. What do you think?

I worked as a Bartender for a straight club and I have to tell you, the amount of drugs and drug behavior I saw there rivals that of any gay club...

    define "Gay community".

are you referring to all the gay guys who go out and party every weekend? then they probably do as many drugs as any group of straight guys/girls who go out and party every weekend

Drugs are everywhere, in both the gay and straight 'worlds'.

I would like to see hard numbers, but I suspect the answer will be "no" Statistics sometimes are created by anti-gay organizations that are very skewed to make gays look bad - so I would not doubt they have some that are contrived. But I do know I saw something a few years ago on the news that showed how "meth" was unexpectedly high in some small rural communities does that mean rural people in small towns are innately drug abusers?

I do know that there have been studies that showed gay youth that experience rejection for being gay are 8 times more likely to abuse substances and attempt suicide. If nothing else it shows that persecution of gay youth is the cause of issues, not the mere fact of being gay.

    That makes sense.

I never inhaled, and I'm just talking about the cigarette I was offered.
(Never occurred to me to inhale smoke. So I exhaled to make the tip glow. Who isn't a pyro at 8?)

There's lots of medication used in the gay world. Alcoholism and abuse rates for other illicit drugs are higher for the population as a whole.

There's drugs and then there's drugs. Many gays because of the way they had to persevere abuse a lot of prescription drugs in order to cope ie many are medicated for depression and the like.

And then the party drugs. Due to marginalization, those in the gay community find themselves being reckless ie promiscuity (and I mean excessive), and overpartying and invariably--drug use.

This not only is unhealthy but feeds into the terrible characterization of gays being exactly that: promiscuous, unfaithful, feckless, reckless, and drug abusing.

fuck drugs up the ass then crush em up on a mirror and blow away lmao
its the same gay or str8. thats like saying do str8 ppl drink more than gay ppl? how the fuk r we so fuckn diffrent. i thought gay n str8 was an orientation, not a lifestyle, an accent. using the term str8 or gay to describe something beside orientation is just ignorant!

My own experiences with drugs had to do directly with not being able to accept myself.

It's a self-induced hell to escape the one thing you could not control.

Only the extreme type might take drugs, eg maybe Chulo. Such as cocaine. He seems racist too. He needs to clean his mouth.
