Since I'd most probably be spending New Year's Eve and Day alone, I'm probably going to spend myself watching movies and tv series with a tub of ice cream, chocolate and various snacks (exactly what I've been doing since Christmasicon_sad.gif)

What would you be doing if you had to spend the holidays alone? Please don't say you'd go out and find friends^^

If I had to spend New Years alone I would make a date day out of it. Make myself something nice and pop in some movies. Maybe a Lost or Buffy the Vampire Slayer movie marathon.

Last year I was alone for New Years and away from my family. Luckily I had turned on the TV to dull my senses..This year, too I'll be spending new years' alone.. icon_sad.gif
I'm planning to retrospect on the year that was.. 2009 seemed like a blur.. things went too fast.. I guess I'll just spend some time figuring and sorting out the things that happene this year and my goals for the year ahead!
    Happy hols to you!

I think it's a great opportunity to spend some time on personal reflection. Look inward. Think of what went right this year. What you'd like to change. What actions can improve your life in 2010 (might start by putting down the ice cream spoon)?

Spend the day on YOU. Use it productively. And grab 2010 by the balls and make it yours.

I usually spend it alone with a bunch of food, movies and the house is clean...I'm way bored with all the noise and hoopla out there on new year's and from expereince, don't like it.

But this year, I have plans to be with ONE guy all night and he's a great kisser. If it all falls through, or if he bails, I will be alone.

Well I've never spent Christmas alone, sometimes a portion of Christmas Eve, but it was by choice. When I lived at home, family members would leave on Christmas Eve and I was able to enjoy a part of it by myself.. I disconnected from my school or professional responsibilities and just messed around... and I loved it!

Now New Years Eve is a little different. I generally stay home (but not exclusively). Have party invites, but I stay home more out of safety. The bf isn't here, so I'll probably be busy with some projects I need to do. I do have a party on the 2nd, so its not a big deal if I do something tomorrow night or not. I might also work out at home on my equipment. I never sit around and do nothing.

I've spent so many of these days by myself, i try and make some traditions. Last year I went to the beach and welcomed the sunrise on New Year's Day. It was actually kind of an amazing thing. But that's just me and my sappy self.

I have plans with my friends tonight.
I don't really like celebrating new years and my birthday. I find both days very very depressing.

I'd load up the greyhounds, some snacks, a sleeping bag and drive to red woods or the coast, go for a run through the forest or on the beach and wake up curled up in the back of my SUV and find somewhere to have breakfast where my girls could sit with me.

One of the best NYEs I ever had was alone reading "Hitchhiker's Guide..." on the floor in front of a blazing fireplace with a glass of wine at my side. Of course, my other best was a house full of party guests having a rip roarin' time.

Worst... sitting in a bar in Daytona with my parents and brother while his girlfriend waited tables, my hubby back in Germany.

What would I do alone now? See top of post. Prolly take a long, hot bath, too.

    - buy some food, eat some ice cream, watch a funny movie, watch the ball drop in NYC and sleep - hm, that was my former single life. icon_cool.gif

I spent Christmas day alone, which I thought was just fine, but will spend New Year's Eve at a party. I've been alone most New Year's Eves and always watch the ball drop on TV, and to see how Dick Clark is getting along. It's a time to personally reflect on life, and look forward. You are never alone when you have yourself.

Nothing doing here either. I'm ok with the aloneness, but company would be much better...especially at 12am. Probably do the dinner-and-a-movie thing also. Horror movies always make me feel better. icon_smile.gif

If I were alone on New Year's Eve, I'd make myself a really nice meal and watch an awesome movie with my dog by my side. As it is, I'm opting to go out for a nice late dinner with two of my closest friends. Low key all the way.

I usually do nothing on New Years. But this year I got an invite to a good party near Times Square.I hope it will be fun.For the guys who have a decent gay bar or club by themI would say go.They will prob have a party.Dont feel stupid going alone. And if you are gonna stay home.call up some friends who are in the same boat..order some good pizza and grab a bottle of champagne and enjoy.I wish all the RJ guys and their families a Happy Healthy New Year!

It boggles my mind that Dick Clark is still alive. He must be almost 100 by now.

And I, too, will be spending New Years alone because I'm in a new city and most of my friends live elsewhere. I'll probably stay in, make something nice to eat and spend a few hours reading (which sounds boring, but I don't usually get as much time to read as I'd like). And maybe go for a run if the weather is nice.

Oh, this year, it's easy. Study for the USCG 3rd Mate's License exam sequence, which starts on Tuesday. 7 exams over four days.

Why did I think this was such a hot idea again? Hahahaha

    Maybe I'll have a beer around 2330.

    Happy New Years!
