Are they closing down in your hood too? Every Quiznos around my house- Every Quiznos that I go to has been closing its doors and turning off its toasters.... for good. icon_sad.gif
Now all I'm left with is Subway... and it's gross. I don't know why people go there so often. Fuckin' Jared. I just wasted $5.

Quiznos sucks...I did not know they were closing any locations, but I'm not surprised to hear that.

And wtf is up with those commercials?

How can you NOT like their commercials?

...and they are closing down, while subways are popping up all over the place.

    Okay, that was funny shiticon_biggrin.gif

Quiznos sucks because their sandwiches are overpriced and bland tasting.

Subway is okay....I'd much rather go to Noodles and Company. I believe I will get lunch there today...yum.

I thought Quizno's was great when it first started opening stores, but then I noticed the quality started to slip and the prices started to rise. So I stopped going. So if they're closing some, I wouldn't be that surprised.

Quiznos always had f*%ed up commercials for some reason. I guess they figured that we would always remember them.

I remember seeing these commercials with the dead, dancing mice and thought, oh, hell no would I be eating at a place that used dead rats for their mascots!! Just saying.

Quiznos subs are a paltry excuse for a meal with minimal ingredients and high prices.

Subway revoked the stamp program and I have been boycotting since head office in Philly did not return my calls/emails.

Mr. Sub, in Canada, offers an enormous sub with loads of toppings at a reasonable price. Simply the best!

I think since they switched from Coke to Pepsi products it became less of a joy to go. I'm a sad person who likes to shake his fist a lot.

Several Quiznos have closed in Chicago as well. Fine with me because I didn't really care for their subs much. Like others have did - Over priced for what you get.

I also stopped going to Subway when they eliminated the stamp program. I've been there a few times since, only to get the $5 foot long.

When I was in CA last year, I went to Which Wich. I thought that place was good and as I recall the prices weren't too bad. The menu printed on the brown bag was pretty innovative.

I think there is just one in Illinois not too far from meicon_smile.gif

The NY Times did a lengthy article in their business section in I think it was late 2007 or early 2008 about the struggles of Quiznos franchisees. In fact, Bhupinder Baber even killed himself in his location leaving behind a suicide note! Basically, there are too many Quiznos and not enough mouths! I read where a lucky franchisee works like 60-70 hours a week and pulls down 55-65K a lot of times!! They closed three around me last year!

Quizno's SUCKS! and not in a good way.
    Subway is -when-nothing-else-is-close-and-I-don't-have-time.
PennStation is over-priced and noisy as hell inside...plus always slow.

    THIS is the best!:

Oh that's terrible. At least I know of one location that shouldn't go out of business anytime soon. Kind of far though.
If Quiznos is overpriced what does that make Subway?
Right now Quiznos is also selling large subs for $5 so that they can compete, but I always get a regular for $0.25 less because the large is often too much for me.
I personally prefer paying the extra pennies to eat at Quiznos because they appear to use better ingredients. If the quality has gone down a bit, I hardly notice it because compared to subway.... I've never felt like I was chewing on a rubber tire when I ate there-

I actually like Quiznos. Some of their sandwiches were decent. But they were always expensive. I only ate there once in a while. And most of the locations around here skimp out on the ingredients. More than Subway does.

But I'm not surprised that Quiznos locations are closing. The expensive price is one thing. The other thing is, I've been hearing that the corporation has been screwing over the franchise owners for the past couple years. Why stay in business if you're losing money, right?

I think Subway will be on top for a while. They have the brand recognition, affordable menu, and I'm sure getting a spot on The Biggest Loser has been a goldmine for them.
