I've been a believer in Christ over 9 months now. I feel that being gay is no different than being straight. It's how you go about finding a partner that makes a difference. But since no one is perfect, both gays and straights fail daily. I just want to be able to go to church and get The Word of GOD from a pastor who sees me as damn as the rest, and a congregation of people whom saves their judgments for the Will of GOD.... Does anyone know if there are churches out there that accept you for who you are? I'm struggling here.

I'm actually looking for one myself i usually find churches that are either anti gay or just too much emphasis on gay. looking for balance myself and i wasn't a believer till 2-3 yrs ago icon_smile.gif

    Absolutely Awesome!!!!
I don't get Contemporary Christian. It all seems so trite. One of the guys I work with is "Christian" and likes to listen to it. The quotes are because like most religious people I've come across, he's VERY hypocritical.

You would be way better off with something else. Secular humanism would be a good start. The problem is that the Christian religion very clearly prohibits homosexual acts. If you place yourself in the circle of that belief, you are bound by adhering to that belief to live a life of celibacy, quite literally. If you maintain that the bible is the "Word of God" then you must abide by that word, rather than pick and choose from it. Either you believe or you don't believe.

Because of this very big incompatibility, you won't be happy. Plain and simple. You don't need a religion to be happy in any circumstance, or to feel fulfilled or any of that. You need to be happy with yourself first, and the only way you can do that is to get away from the mental slavery of a religion who's god is going to send you to hell for a state of being that you had no choice in.

Explore other options, but find fulfillment in yourself.

And for the record, I used to be a born-again Christian. Smartest thing I ever did was leave that silliness behind.

well if religious people were perfect they wouldn't need someone to guide them anyways this isnt a discussion thread, its about music, like or leave it

This band actually came to me in a dream. Plumb. In my dream the album cover was a plum with a fork in it....of course they have an album cover like that. Turns out I really like their music.

The day after the dream I bought some shares in Thompson Plumb Mutual Fund and Buffalo Smallcap(in the dream there were buffalos in the Plumb video). I made a good amount of money off of these funds.

Let me just say that i disavow ALL religions, as they all in some way seek to isolate individuals from the greater existence and humanity (some of my zen flower child speak). That said, music is my savior and i do indulge in christian music. Kirk Franklin is other-wordly. As is Yolanda Adams, Smoky Norful, and so on and so on. But this band and these two songs bring me to the brink of tears:

    END!!!
