I know, it's probably creepy and weird, but I don't mind that side of me.

I just wanted to know if I'm the only one (gonna laugh if I am, very hard) that talks to their food when they really, reallllly want it.

I'm not making a reference to sex stuff, perverts! (i care about you, regardless though icon_smile.gif )

I'm making this topic because I walked into the kitchen and grabbed some cranberry raspberry juice from the fridge and said, "Yessss, yessss come here delicious drink."

And I stopped and looked around because I realized I was literally talking out loud. icon_redface.gificon_redface.gificon_redface.gif

    LOL I'm so sad.

As long as the food doesn't talk back to you, you are fine.

    Quite often!

I even do the food voices, too.

Me: "hey chicken, you look good"

Chicken: "I am, honest, take a bite"

Me: "well you taste good but you're a little dry"

Chicken: "it's just my sense of humor"

"Do you have ANY idea how digested you are going to be in an hour or so? You're kinda fucked."

I said that at Denny's to a Slamburger last Saturday night at like 2:00AM.

    The Slamburger responded,
"BAHAHAHA, not only was that NOT light beer, but I cost like 2,500 calories. See you on the treadmill, bitch. icon_twisted.gif"
    mccheese2.jpg

(Well, actually I said that second part as well, halfway through the burger. Out loud, in a Slamburger voice)

I gave up meat 3 years ago almost (except for seafood and fish) and when I go out to eat with my friends and they get hamburgers, they frequently make their burgers 'speak' saying "eat me, you know you want to eat me!"

    Great friends, huh? icon_smile.gif

Not really an answer to the forum topic, is it? ah well... icon_eek.gif

I'm going to fucking peel you banana and your going to like it.

I'm going to tear off that skin peel, yeah, just like that. Send shivers down your banana shaft. Then I'm going to nibble the little gooey part on your tip. Mmmhmm, just like that.

Shhh shh, no don't speak. It'll be okay. Just *places finger on banana's mouth.* lol

Dude.. I think that has less to do with "speaking to food".. and more to do with just saying random crap out loud all the time.

I too enjoy this affliction. It makes hanging out by yourself a lot easier.

    Rock on.

This is not uncommon when you are alone. You don't need to fret like there is anything wrong with you.

We have a human need to converse with people and when no one is around to converse with, we talk to ourself, or the food, or some other object that can not talk back. icon_smile.gif

This is completely normal. We all started out as children thinking out loud. Look at children, for example, they are always thinking out loud and talking to inanimate objects as if they really existed. This is a normal part of how we learn a language. When we reach a certain stage, however, most of us internalize the dialogue and it becomes "private speech."

I always catch myself running through this private speech when I'm shopping. I'll be walking around the store thinking out loud about what I want to make for dinner and going through my shopping list out loud. So what, people think I'm crazy. Now, I agree with others that if those inanimate objects start talking back, then we have a problem.

Talking to your food makes it that much better! If you haven't done it, you should try it!

Tonight I was telling my stir-fry how it smelled so good and how it was going to taste even better haha.

Yeah, you're weird, but weird is good, don't give it up.

There has always been things I'd like to say to certain foods, but never mustered up the strength to say it to their face... so i just ATE them instead!
